Subject: Community Over Code 2023 Speaker Information Dear Community Over Code Speaker, This message is unavoidably long, and we ask that you read the whole thing, as it will answer most of the questions that you'll have in the coming weeks. (You're receiving this because you're listed as a speaker for Community Over Code 2023. If you've received this in error, there are unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of this message.) Community Over Code 2023 will be held in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Saturday, October 7 through Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at the Halifax Convention Center, 1650 Argyle St, Halifax, NS B3J 0E6, Canada. More details are available at https://communityovercode.org Note that these days are across a weekend, which is a change from past years. Please pay close attention to the dates and plan your travel and lodging accordingly. The schedule is published at https://communityovercode.org/schedule/. Please find your session in the schedule, and verify that the listing is correct. If you have more than one session, please verify that you don't have conflicting time slots. If you need to change your scheduled date/time or other details about your session, please contact us at planners@apachecon.com. Please note that we cannot guarantee that we can accommodate every change request, particularly if it's just a preference, rather than an actual conflict, as we have to balance everyone's needs. It's also a good idea to coordinate requested changes with your track's chair(s) first, as they will need to approve schedule changes. Presentations are in person. We do not, and will not, have a facility to present remotely. If you find yourself unable to attend the event *in person*, please let us know immediately, so that we can make other arrangements. Note that only the primary speaker, i.e., the person who submitted the talk proposal in the first place, will have received an acceptance email. If you're a secondary speaker, please communicate with the primary speaker. You are *not* automatically registered for the event. Please register for the event at https://communityovercode.org/registration/ using the email address at which you received this message in order to receive your $0 registration fee. If you do not see the Speaker option in the registration process for some reason, please stop the process and contact Brian Proffitt](mailto:bkp@apache.org). Note that only TWO speakers per talk get this rate. Any additional speakers should contact me or Brian for additional information. Recommended hotel information is listed on the registration page, but there are also numerous other options in easy walking distance from the event venue. If you need a visa invitation letter, please follow the instructions on https://communityovercode.org/visa-letter/ and provide all of the requested information to expedite turnaroud time on the letter. DO NOT DELAY. Visa requests take time, and cannot be rushed. If you have further questions, please contact planners@apachecon.com so that the track chairs can see the message.
