--- ###### tags: `ReallyBoringGuild` `Roadmap` --- # RBG Roadmap 2022 We are progressively decentralizing. We are increasingly identifying discrete workstreams. Let's map our progress to synchronize while providing as much autonomy for individual contributors as possible. ### Agile Schedule TW proposes an agile method for our ongoing operations. Something like this: #### Mondays : Group Sync - All of RBG meets to share the projects they are working on for the week - Announce resources that we need from each other - Organize meetings for individual work streams throughout the week - Every Monday might be dedicated to a different purpose that we could standardize on the calendar, for example: - Roadmap updates (futures meeting) - RBG internal ops workshop (towards an RBG DAO), developing our own processes, best practices, etc. - Other special needs? #### Tuesday-Thursday : Workstream Stand-ups - Everyday every sub-group can check-in somehow for 10-15 minutes. These meetings are self-organized. - If working solo, post an update on Discord. - If working with a team, post meeting notes to Discord. #### Fridays : Demonstrations, Retrospectives, and Cocktails! - Alternating Fridays for demos and retros. Cocktails every Friday (optional social hour open to the public to jam on DAO vibes) - A short meeting, perhaps *30 minutes before the cocktail hour* to demonstrate the work of that week alternating with feedback on the projects. These might be recorded and shared async, but synchronous will provide maximum impact. ### Formation of an HR Work Stream - TW had a meeting with Loie Taylor and [she recommends we read her article.](https://medium.com/@loietaylor/the-foundations-of-decent-ralized-hr-3b58f6a52d31) - She was hesitant to consult with us, worried that if we have internal tension it might be a gaping wound she doesn't want to become involved with. - If we can identify what our highest priorities are to prove our dedication to unlocking our potential, she might be willing to provide us with resources and consultation. - We expect notes from Kelly Page from our recent conflict resolution circle. - This might be an opportunity for Yalda to work independently, or to invite Loie and/or Kelly to join our RBG team in this focused capacity. - How do we justify the value/KPIs of this work to the DAO to secure the budget? Specifically, we might identify these immediate needs: 1. **Clear on- and off-boarding policies**, including clear compensation schemes and sweat equity standards. 2. **A statement of inclusivity/diversity** to be included in the handbook, specifically for neural/mental divergent perspectives. 3. Clear instructions and permissions on **how to update the content of the handbook**, leading to larger questions of how to change policy and who merges the changes. The handbook needs to be critiqued and written collectively. *Reference: the open-source lore research happening in RaidGuild and the community-first constitution being written at DAOhaus. Notes coming soon.* 4. **The perspectives of MolochDAO members (beyond those in RBG) needs to be gathered and integrated.** ### Priorities for the Individual Work Streams We might begin by revisiting the 2021 roadmap. - We articulated 3 clear work streams. - Much progress has been made with the RaidGuild sponsorship. - We should collectively critique and integrate these learnings (through a retrospective) in order to understand the priorities moving forward. - The roadmap should take us to the end of the next grant round (a trimester basis). - **Every work stream should have it's own task list** with next steps to allow for maximum impact and decentralization of labors. - Need to formalize compensation schemes, inspired by [the DAOhaus War Camp structure articulated by Spencer](https://forum.daohaus.club/t/discussion-contributor-compensation-revamp-proposal/1958): - Retroactive compensation for new contributors - Number of hours for earning a share via sweat equity - A new commitment track for dedicated contributors - Spencer is willing to consult with us on these issues #### Design Strategy Work Stream - Includes admin of website, handbook repo, and design system. - Website will be live soon. **Content should be audited by everyone** while we still have access to the RG team. - DNS will need to be configured and temp page removed. - Ongoing handbook changes to progressively decentralize everything. - **Handbook audit initiative:** - Dedicate funds for conducting internal and external scrutiny of the handbook, both content and structure. - Used to incentivize members to engage with core community principles. - An opportunity for new contributors to cut their teeth, to consult with specialists on DAO handbook concepts ([Amos and earth2travis from DAOhaus has already laid groundwork of the audit](https://hackmd.io/J8AHcE1sTduhkZC9g6qe2g)). - Considered a public good offering for the greater community, motivated to raise the bar and set a new precident for how DAO documentation is composed. - Related to a conceptual problem currently being developed: how to use DAO tooling to vote upon changes in canonical lore? (Notes on this topic are being compiled) #### Grant Strategy and Admin - Includes the annual report, ongoing strategy research, and the new MetaMoloch DAO-to-DAO collab. - Ann will help oversee the publishing of the annual report but wants to focus on other things so this stream could use a new lead or we can embrace decentralizing the tasks. Here's their latest status update: ![](https://i.imgur.com/3Me9DGK.jpg) - MetaMoloch will have weekly meetings at first to lay the foundation for the joined workstream. Will eventually become every 2 weeks. Join us **Wednesdays at 2pm MST on #los-moloches channel of MC Discord.** [TW will create an event invite for us.](https://discord.com/channels/566761527529570356/716426303544361051/929045588681588826) - We have lots to share with them and even more to learn! [Full notes from the first meeting can be read here.](https://hackmd.io/e4UT7H-pTeGUrJNZ56SaPg) - This is a profound opportunity for knowledge sharing that will benefit both DAOs and the wider ecosystem. - **Needs a task list!** - Need to crowdsource knowledge from MolochDAO members to gather their input on the grant pipeline process. - Relaying this info back through regular standups with allow the Design Work Stream to illustrate the progression back to the members, increasing transparency and (hopefully) engagement. #### Community Strategy Already pretty well articulated by the RG group (thanks Christina and Sunny!) - [Overview](https://forum.daohaus.club/t/discussion-contributor-compensation-revamp-proposal/1958) - [Slide deck presented to RBG](https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1gMfk3yR3mko99pviEFH59-SUgBB3wKyvQaOdQAdaE9c/edit?usp=sharing) - [Brand Strategy](https://hackmd.io/p2Kb6DaiQhyyTvfLofzpvw) - [Miscellaneous Notes on Community/Brand Strategy](https://hackmd.io/2npNsjzDQ92nLfk1ctEw2g) So what are the next steps for this work stream? My suggestions: - Sunny has also expressed interest in joining RBG. Do we want to invite him to continue contributing to this work stream? - **Setup an RBG task board.** Do we continue using the Notion project space (then it needs to be pruned)? Move to Trello or another tool like ClickUp? Maybe we start with a poll that collects all of our suggestions and we vote on it, unless someone wants to present a case? This is related to an RBG internal ops conversation. - **Let's make sure we are documenting these processes** as they are being setup so that other contributors can easily learn them without requiring P2P handoff! Maybe Loom video tutorials, or working with a scribe (👀 Christina) to integrate the procedures into the handbook. Immediate needs: - We need **a brief text written that describes the v2 upgrade** that happened August-September. I vote for an interview between Zayi, Pooja, and Christina with Ann and Travis so that we can all share in the story, learn from each other, and document a powerful moment for RBG. Could be fun? - **Memes! POAPs! Video announcements for member meetings and other ways members can get involved!** We need some transmedia content creation. TW can do this, but would be great to decentralize the process. This is the fun stuff! Let's open up the culture of MolochDAO.
