--- tags: Raid Ops --- # Raid Guild Round Table Notes: 7/29/2021 ## Proposals & Members - 🎉 Welcome to **Sazerac** 🎉 ## Updates - EthCC Recap - **Sasquatch** and **tae** represented the guild - Overall really good event — check out the Vitalik talk - tae representing DAOs - Raid Guild had name recognition at the conference (~2/5 times mentioned folks were aware of our name) - Rekt put out a physical newsletter about who have been hacked and who audited them ## Props - ⚔️ We are doing official things with LARPy sounding names. ⚔️ ## Raids, Raids, Raids! **Potential Raids** - *POAP* project — **tae** will be following up - *SWCapital* — has a specific spec — more information coming soon (check the **#guild-member-chat** for the spec) **Current Raids** - *weeBid* consultation — **Bau**, **penguin**, and **Sasquatch** have done consultations - Their original intake form didn't have a lot of specifics — they're looking for someone to write a grant and do some project management work - *DAOSquare* — **Brandon** been working with **tae** about this - May be more of a consultation/research project to help them get their DAO vision realized with their current contracts - Excalibur potential? - They have a front-end team but will likely need some help interfacing with DAO contracts ## Discussion Topics - Potential RIP: Write up some security best practices for folks in the Guild — could then become a public good - Key safety — web3 and otherwise - Protecting .env and keys from any crawlers - Potentially curate some best practices from a variety of sources? - Guild Solidity devs getting into reviewing or auditing? - Reputation risk is fairly asymmetric in the negative — positive is that there is a high demand for audits - Cleric responsibility to handle anything in arbitration? - Clerics push these things across the finish line and manage the communication and updates - Reach out to **Bau** if interested in being onboarded into [Opolis](https://opolis.co/) ## MCon - Main event is 9/15 - 9/17 in Denver with Wyoming Hackathon the following week - Figuring out sponsors and other details, but conference definitely happening! - Raid Guild should try to add some resources — design work, dev work, etc. - Do what we can to make this a group effort - Build a static site? - Potentially have a Raid Guild specific meetup during the event? - Raid Guild banner flag in the conference room! - **DamagedGoods** can possibly make smaller Raid Guild flags ## Token Talk - **AaronS** — launch in home stretch! - Next Monday: auction queue goes live — tokens will be distributed some time next week - Marketing materials and primers are ready to go — look at the channel if you want to see the materials - Have a final list for the token list — check the chat with the *Clean List* tab in the Google Sheet - This is the *final list* for distributions - Major props to the team for pulling this together - Do we want to create a TokenDAO within the Guild? - DAO within the Guild to manage the token - What would the tasks be for this? - Manage any problems that arise, field questions, manage alternate use cases and champion new initiatives - Promotional support — help get the word out to our networks ## Season 2 Cohort - **DamagedGoods** and **tae** working on this — likely pushing back 1 more week - Do we require new members to go through the cohort? Does this risk holding up new members joining and onboarding? - Do we want to allow folks to be championed without going through the cohort program? - If someone gets championed directly they still should be part of the next cohort - Champions should be supporting the folks they're championing - If people end up not being a good fit we'd want to look at who champion'd them - Cohort enables us to minimize risk — we want to avoid folks joining and not contributing - Bringing people on without going through the cohort lacks a monitoring system — cohort folks join as a group and have some camaraderie - Do we want to create standards for folks who are championed outside of a cohort? 30 day review process? - Need to complete a raid within 30 days to remain in the Guild - We should monitor the folks who need to go through the cohort — they can apply for the next coming cohort — champions should be responsible for helping shepherd folks through this - Champions as a sort of 'buddy system' - We could use RAID token in this way — champions stake RAID on folks they champion - Are newly championed/new members helping to move the Guild forward? - If we do a buddy system, some of the older members should also be given an option to participate in this type of onboarding - Would be helpful from group perspective if we come up with some projects and help facilitate the mentorship process - Buddy system and similar initiatives can take time and energy, but if we have a staking mechanism this could also help potentially incentivize this process ## Weekly Meetings **Raider Round-Up**: Tuesdays, 1pm EDT 10am PDT **Shill Shop**: Tuesdays, 3pm EDT, 12pm PDT **Wordsmiths**: Wednesdays, 11am EDT, 8am PDT **Happy Hour**: Fridays, 1pm EDT
