--- tags: Raid Ops --- # Raid Guild Round Table Notes: 6/17/2021 I started to take notes around 15 minutes in, so was trying to summarize some of the previous conversation. ## Education and Leveling Up - RG needs Solidity devs! - How could we structure a process for members to level up their skills (especially in high demand skill areas?) - What would sponsored education experiences look like? - Web3 Critical Skills - The Graph - How can we scaffold and structure guild members leveling up skills (especially in needed areas) ## Contract to Hire Model - Hire the guild → guild assigns 1 or 2 devs → company hires devs → 10% of the dev's annual salary goes to the guild - Would want to look into this coming from the client as a surcharge, not a cut to the dev's salary - Would create an exit flow of talent, but this may be what many of our clients are looking for — could be a good pathway for members who don't want to be freelancers - Would then want to make sure we're able to replace talent that goes out, especially with much needed skills such as Solidity - Recent clients have been looking for talent, but RG isn't a recruiting agency. This could be a path to pursue - Could also be structured as a longer term project such as a 2 year project → full-time hire after longer term engagement (Excalibur client?) - RG members are freelancers, and aren't necessarily looking for this type of model (single company employment) - This type of model is becoming more popular (agencies are losing talent to groups with a similar model to RG — *sourcing agencies*) - Talent goes and sits on a *bench* doing internal projects or personal development while waiting to be sourced for a longer term project / company placement ## Raids, Raids, Raids! - **ETHDenver** - Would be fun to have a Raid Guild party during ETHDenver! - *Blood of Moloch* recipe → brewer in Denver - **OrochiDAO** - Sponsor them → become a member of the DAO → throw a party! - **Cleric Revamp** - Revamping the process for taking new clients - Admin processes such as setting up escrow taking a lot of time - Focusing on getting higher paying clients for extended durations - Often these clients need a *stepping stone* that could lead to larger projects - Many *Excalibur* clients often require progression - Consultations and smaller raids boost client confidence - Cleric → PM handoff could be clarified and refined - **New Cohort** - Will do another one but need time to regrouping - Potentially do a new cohort in July or August - Folks willing to contribute to the process - We can try to implement some of the newer processes such as sponsorship for the next cohort - Can use this as an opportunity to reboot some of our models - Guild at a point where we can level up processes since RG has an established reputation - **Season 1 Projects** - *web3template* and *cohort site* - RIP funding once at point for more generalized template (could be a DAOhaus or UberHaus grant) - Participants getting paid via RIPs — have cohort apprentices go through process of requesting funds from the *Season 1 DAO Guild Bank* - **Series LLC** - Individual raids to be individual Series LLCs? - What would the process be? Internal discussion → proposal - What are the steps for this to materialize? - May need to update existing LLC paperwork to point to the xDAI DAO - Escrow process could be automated - Escrow spins up an *operating agreement* and inject the Series LLC into it during this process - **EthCC** - [https://ethcc.io/](https://ethcc.io/) - Anyone attending? - Funding for raid-representatives? - Will have a keg of *Blood of Moloch*! - Painting the keg? Banners? - What is the cost for 1 keg? - **$RAID Token Talk** - Fill out the Airtable form if you want tokens! - Check out the **#rip-raid-token** channel for updates and if you're available to help (5-10 hours over next few weeks) - There are tasks to be done! - React devs needed - Check out the Trello board and self-assign tasks if able to help - What is the pulse on $RAID token? Any concerns? - Clients who pay the 500 consultation xDAI fee can move forward in the consultation queue by acquiring additional $RAID tokens (auction queue) - Token will need to have utility and value → priority access to services is a way to do this - Token tied to demand for guild services, and this could be a way to measure this - Loyalty system and representation of "aggressive demand" for RG services - How do you quantify how many clients want to hire RG? ## Resources - [Raid Round-up: 6/15/2021](https://hackmd.io/0_XoX3j9Rj6bBYqpKQQZGQ) - [https://raidguild.operatingagreement.eth.link/](https://raidguild.operatingagreement.eth.link/)
