# Escrow RIP (Phase 1) -- Retrospective

## What went well
- worked with Ross to add RG-focused features to the LexLocker (now called LexGuildLocker)
- spoils are now automated
- It's working and on mainnet!

## What was lacking and other challenges
- uncertainty about how lexDAO actually handles resolving locks
- testing out the mainnet deployment with ganache was challenging
- having to coordinate requisite changes to Airtable with other Guild requirements (upgrading to Raid Central V2)
- Protecting client privacy in a web3-native way proved difficult
- Originally we wanted to integrate with a new raid proposal to automate the series LLC for the raid, but gas costs and other frictions prevented us from doing that in this version
- web3 rounding was a challenge on the front end

## What we learned
- including a real designer (and not relying on Spencer's amateur skills) is important ;)

## Improvements for future versions
- allow variable milestone payment amounts
- allow clients to make partial deposits (at minimum through next milestone) rather than for the entire raid
- potentially integrate with new raid proposal for more complete automation
- web3-native client privacy solution
- Gnosis Safe App / Forged Minion
