# RIP - Comms Revival Slaying Moloch is at an all time high in RaidGuild. We've scaled our organization to 136 members, bringing 54 new members into the crew in 2021 alone. A quick look at the numbers 👀 - 2,146 discord members - 136 members +60% - 13 RIPs - 22 Internal Raids - 26 External Raids **Background** Part of the difficulty of building in the open, with relatively few barriers to entry and a ton of flexiblity, is that communication is reduced to things that **need** to be talked about in the context of a given project or immediate project goals, where intention is missed on objectives or priorities that could possibly lead to helping the communication itself. Raiders, in their fantastical band, stirr transformation amid the shadows they're engorged in, with magic being a term of endeerment, expressing that what we are building is difficult and impactful. The principles that drive us to building public goods, along with the legendary crossed swords we engineer to further defense mechanics against the god of coordination failure, Moloch, are responsible for our arrival at this point. These swords are seeing continuous refinement, moving from disjointed workflows and contributors cross-collaborating on several projects with shared or sub-divided responsibilities across domains, to a model where collaboraters can coalece around SOPs and their technical foundations, infused by the values that we champion. We see through Moloch's teary dismay and we have no doubt that RaidGuild, along with the DAOs it finds itself interacting with, will overcome Moloch, utilizing tools we have engineered to coordinate more effectively. In nearing closer to Dunbar's number, it is apparent that coordination between individual contributors and siloed Raid Teams is becoming increasingly difficult and a consistent communication schedule should be made ever more abundant. **Problem** - Inconsistent communication in RaidGuild has created gaps in the information available to members, apprentices, and the wider community. **Solution** - In Airtable create a form that takes input from raiders, such as: - RIP/RAID Updates - Commentary or Criticism about contemporary issues or current events (news) - Latest or Greatest Learnings - links to supporting materials - Take Airtable Submissions and shape them into short newsletter updates to send out to the guild (internally) ###### This approach will help Raiders to provide their input, curate resources, and communicate pertinent information consistently, addressing gaps in information and increasing coordiantion ##### The design of this RIP will be to purpose the flow of information as well as perspectives into RaidGuild ![](https://i.imgur.com/LPCcvW2.png) - art by [Lahcen-KH.eth](https://nifty.ink/ink/QmcgzwEqk9PjSDLa3ppCgrvgpyty2jECuXxZGKgGv5uSJP) on Nifty Ink The following is a rough sketch of the questions we will be asking raiders on a **weekly** basis. Raiders will be able to provide their input into the form, where Wordsmiths will collate responses and craft a document that contextualizes and frames the input from raiders into thoughtful dialogues and updates for the Guild to consider. Question #1 ###### What did you spend your time doing? - RIPs - Internal Raids - External Raids - Operations Question #2 ###### Shares some RIPs, RAIDs, or activities you have been spending time on (please separate by comma) `short answer response` Question #3 ###### What would you like Raiders to know about what you have been building or spending time on? Question #4 ###### Are there any current events or news stories related or unrelated to RaidGuild that you would like to share with Raiders?
