# Mechanics
The player feeds the Pokemons they see using [biscuits], an item similar to Pokeball. If the [FP] gauge maxes out, the user will then be able to keep that Pokemon, and the [friendship level] will grow by 1.
There are some gimmicks, such as [Hungry], [Full], and [Critical Hit] that will affect the outcome of catching a Pokemon.
## Examples
Assuming [Natu](https://pks.raenonx.cc/en/pokedex/177) max FP is 5. The player might have one of the following outcomes:
### Outcome 1 (Caught)
- Feed Poke Biscuit (FP +1)
- Feed Poke Biscuit (FP +1)
- Feed Great Biscuit (FP +3)
[FL] will increase by 1 starting from the next encounter.
[FP] will be 0 in the next encounter.
### Outcome 2 (Caught)
- Feed Great Biscuit (FP +3)
- Feed Great Biscuit (FP +3)
[FL] will increase by 1 starting from the next encounter.
[FP] will be 0 in the next encounter instead of 1 even if the total [FP] is 6.
### Outcome 3 (Not Caught)
- Feed Poke Biscuit (FP +1)
- Feed Poke Biscuit (FP +1)
- Pokemon becomes [Full]
[FL] will still be the same in the next encounter.
[FP] will start from 2 in the next encounter.
### Outcome 4 (Caught)
- Pokemon spawned is "[Hungry]".
- Feed Poke Biscuit (FP +3 - `1 x 3`)
- Feed Poke Biscuit (FP +1)
- Feed Poke Biscuit (FP +1)
[FL] will increase by 1 starting from the next encounter.
[FP] will be 0 in the next encounter.
# Tips
- **Use Poke Biscuit to catch shiny Pokemon. It is a guaranteed catch using ANY biscuit.**
- It is generally **NOT** recommended to catch any evolved form of a Pokemon (Pikachu is probably one of the exceptions) because it does nothing good than catching one baby form and grow from there.
# Strategies
## 5 [FP] Pokemon feeding
There are a few routes to feed a [FP] 5 Pokemon based on your priority.
### 2 Basic + 1 Great
#### Pros
- Spends 3 biscuits only.
- Allows 2 attempts on B Biscuit, potentially saving a Great Biscuit if [critical hit] happens.
#### Cons
- Pokemon could get [full] before feeding the 3rd biscuit without event. In this case, if [hungry] lands on the Pokemon in the next encounter, then that [hungry] is wasted.
Note the order. It should be 2 Basics then 1 Great, **NOT** 1 Great then 2 Basics. The order matters, because the suggested order will allow 2 attempts for [critical hit]s using Poke Biscuit. It's essentially saving a Great Biscuit because a Poke Biscuit will have the same effectiveness as a Great Biscuit or even better.
As a counterexample, If the order goes as 1 Great then 2 Basics instead, [critical hit] of the Poke Biscuit will result in overfed while the suggested order will not.
### 2 Great
#### Pros
- Pokemon will not get [full], each encounter results in a catch
#### Cons
- Overfed everytime by 1 [FP].
> We have a plan to implement a feature for evaluating different feeding routes to help the players deciding the feeding route they want to pick. However, it's currently not a priority for us. If you find this useful, please submit a website feedback in our [Discord] so we can raise the priority for this!
## Using Ultra Biscuit / Master Biscuit
We recommend using Ultra / Master biscuit only when all of the following conditions are satisfied:
- The Pokemon is 16 [FP] or more
- You want to rush increasing [FL], or the Pokemon itself is strong enough so worth catching a bunch and pick the best
- You are paying the game
If any of the conditions are not met, it is generally considered wasteful given the scarcity of Ultra / Master Biscuit.
