# WiggleBin - Hardware Academy - Final Presentation ## Project description **Name of your project**: WiggleBin **Name of your author**: Vincent Kranendonk --- **Brief description of your project:** The goal of WiggleBin is to make an open-source smart [vermicomposting](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vermicompost) bin which makes both **worms** and **humans** happy. --- **Current status of your project**: This project is in the research and testing phase. Currently our research involves trying out different sensors. See [issues](https://github.com/studiorabota/wiggle-bin/issues) for more info and how to contribute. After testing sensors, the focus will shift to the physical bin, including feeding and harvesting. Eventually we would also like to create a PCB board, making it easier to build the WiggleBin. See [milestones](https://github.com/studiorabota/wiggle-bin/milestones) for our future plans. --- **References to your project documentation**: https://github.com/studiorabota/wiggle-bin ### Share link to the peer review you have received Peer reviewed the WiggleBin in a call. Short summary can be found at https://hackmd.io/CuXHiuFESnWZCRs7jzHxEw ## Share general feedback to the academy ### What did you learn and/or experienced that was useful to progress in your project - Planning excersises are really nice. - Documentation was super useful, well written and handy. - Especially enjoyed the PCB one, made me feel like I actually could also make a simple PCB. - Experience of focusing on one project for 10 weeks helped allot in staying focuses. - BBQ was 👌 ### Do you find that the estimation of 4 hours per week is fair to be able to perform the exercises? Yes. However while also working on the project it consumes more hours. ### What things can we improve for next rounds - Live introduction in the first online meeting for each participants would be nice. Next to the introduction via the chat. - Requirement to share each week in the chat what you have done will increase the pressure a bit on actually making progress. And is also fun to see how otheres are progressing. - After a question, say "What do you think [name]?" instead of waiting for a response of someone in the group. Especially online. And keep the questions concise.
