# Experience Sharing in BMW Laboratory

Hi, my name is Imam Nur Bani Yusuf. I come from Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia. I am majoring in telecommunication engineering. I am very grateful that I have opportunity to do internship in Broadband Multimedia and Wireless Research Laboratory at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology.

My internship topic is about FAPI or Functional Application Platform Interface specification for 5G. FAPI is an universal standard made by SCF (Small Cell Forum) that organizes how software in L2/L3 communicate with hardware in L1. Although I am a student that majoring in telecommunication engineering, this topic is new for me. I haven't learn anything about 5G before this internship, so I start from zero. I also have opportunity to install Open Air Interface or OAI, learn to attach a SIM card to attach to OAI network, and try the SIM card in a cell phone.

**What I learn in this internship**
- I learn how to make a daily plan and daily evaluation during this internship. I think this daily routine is important, because we can know what to achieve in one day and measure our accomplishment in that day too.
- I also learn how to work in a team, present my outcome and discuss problem (if there is any) every week in the weekly meeting. The people here is so nice and helpful. They often offer me a hand when I face problem or do not understand something.
- Last, I am happy that I able to make network in NTUST. The local people in BMW lab is very nice, friendly, and helpful. They often offer me a hand when I face problem or do not understand something. I also meet some students from Indonesia that study in other Lab. It is nice to see many people and share stories with each other.
