## Notes about meeting structure
Time: cap at 6 hours in principle. If energy is overflowing, we can reconsider
### Basic structure
#### Day 1
1) look ahead (goal setting)
2) community discussions
The old US - Europe (or Germany?) devide
diversity/inclusion
organizational culture
3)
## Joost's topics
### Agreeing on the fundamentals
i.e. tile policy
We've been avoiding topics in the past because we thought the gaps were unbridgable. Let's try again - now is the time! And then turn them into a plan for this year and the next.
OUTCOME: CLARITY ON POLICY, WILLNESS TO ADDRESS CORE ISSUES
## Board + core collaborators
### Local Chapters
* working with the LCcWg
* what's in it for them? why should they join?
* direct financing?
* lightweight recognition of usergroups
-> reform of the Advisory Board
OUTCOME: CLARITY ON GOALS FOR LOCAL CHAPTERS INITIATIVE
### Corporations
Funding without depending on companies BUT ALSO not needlessly alienating companies
corporations are welcome, they just need to behave
-> reform of the Advisory Board
OUTCOME: NEW PLAN FOR ADVISORY BOARD, POSSIBLE SPLIT, (RE)DEFINE SCOPE OF ROLE
### Working Groups
- addressing the culture of fear
- encouraging activation by asking specific people to do a specific job
OUTCOME: CONCRETE ACTION ITEMS TO INCREASE PARTICIPATION AND ACCOUNTABILITY
### OSMF infrastructure
* Lack of evolution
* Still at same level 5 years ago
* COmplexity associated with scale and growth, can't just hack API
* Need ways to work on more complex system
* core infrastructure
* How are we doing with rendering tiles?
* but also just osm.org
1) make it easier to contribute
- backlog
- support new people
2) community feedback loop for contribution content without need for programming
* fundamental services
- we should provide some services ourselves, if only for marketing purposes. But we shouldn't shy away from enforcing some rules of use
- airtight seal between internal and external services
- de facto fundamental services need to Just Work (e.g. Garmin downloads)
### Internal Working of the Board
Problem statement: some folks not doing a lot, others doing more than is health
* division of the work
* limits to our engagement
* choice of medium for communication
* making decisions together
