## PulpCon 2020 Retro
What went well/Keep doing?
* Heard that some folks liked being able to jump on the stream. Didn't feel like they were interrupting.
* Loved having more folk from the community join in, got some great insights +1+1
* Loved having lots of variety in hosts - great engagement and good to see different contributors leading sessions. Spreads the load on having the conference and keeps things more interesting. +1
* Variety of content was great - lots of really interesting topics
* Staying on-track time-wise - everyone worked hard to stay focused and keep us to schedule
* **HATS**! +1+1
What can be improved (or stop doing)?
* One-hour-slots felt like they limited some really interesting discussions - maybe 90 min next time?
* Maybe we need slots of different length? Some topics do not take 90 mins but some would definitely benefit from longer discussions.
* Since things were streamed & recorded, I felt like we missed the chatting and personal connection we might have waiting to go into a conference talk or before things get started. Perhaps we can kick it off with a coffee 20min ice breaker for those on the call before starting streaming/recording. (rchan)
* If we did 90-min sessions, we could have 30-min nonrecorded "in-betweens" maybe?
* I find it hard to have a chat with 15+ people on a call, usually few active people chat and others do not (I think partially because it's a challenge to insert a word on a call with many people). I would be good if we could split into small chat rooms, randomly, or based on topic.
* mikedep333 suggestion on promo at top of docs +1 +1
* Promo in $TOPIC of various IRC channels +1 +1
* the chat was split between hangouts and the youtube channel. This google chat being the primary causes there to be no record on the youtube channel.
* for every session, dedicate 5 mins at the end to identify next steps or action items and have them in one place. The was an attempt to do so https://hackmd.io/@pulp/pulpcon2020_randomnotes#Action-Items-from-various-sessions, it didn't seem to be used much.
Is there a chat? Official or side-channel?
