# Builder Guild

**tl:dr** Establishing a council of DAO founders/members from DAOs created via Nouns.Build to provide better communication flow, agency for the DAOs, and an improved feedback loop.


The creation of a Builder Guild will allow BuilderDAO an improved feedback loop regarding needs of the DAOs created on Nouns.Build and allow for BuilderDAO to better support and promote those DAOs. In creating this council, the idea is that they will also have a vote within BuilderDAO via delegation and their own token created via this prop.

This proposal sets out to do the following:

1) Establish the Builder Guild with an initial group of representatives from nounish DAOs created on Nouns.Build:

2) Mint a BuilderDAO token to the Builder Guild multisig to allow for independent agency for this group of DAO representatives. This will also give votes in any future prop houses and delegations may be allotted as well.

3) Fund the multisig with .25 eth to cover gas reimbursement for voting, proposal submissions etc.

4) Reimburse .021 eth for expenses setting up the multi-sig, ENS etc.

5) Set out the initial governance document for the Builder Guild. (below)


# Governance of Builder Guild

### Builder Guild Governance Guidelines – First Draft

**MISSION AND VALUES**

**Builder Guild Mission**
Builder Guild has been established to provide representation to active DAOs created using Nouns.Build and to support BuilderDAO’s mission: the creation and development of free and accessible DAO infrastructure as a public good.

**VOTING**

**Voting Options:**

All polls in #Builder Guild-votes have the following options: FOR, AGAINST, or a Builder Guildor can abstain from the decision.

**Voting Period:**

All Builder Guild polls are open for 3 days (72 hours), after which voting will close. Late votes will not be accepted.

**Voting Quorum:**

The minimum number of Builder Guildors that need to vote on a proposal in order for a decision to be made. Abstains count towards quorum. A vote that fails to meet quorum is null and void.

Default setting: 10%

**MEMBERS**

**Member Eligibility:**
To be eligible for membership in Builder Guild an individual must be designated by their DAO as their representative. DAOs will determine this process.

**DAO Eligibility:**
For DAOs to nominate a Builder Guild Representative, a DAO must have been created via Nouns.Build, existed for a minimum of 30 days and have a minimum of 30 token holders.

**New Members:**
New members can join the Builder Guild Discussion Channel at any time and engage in respectful dialog and discussion.

Once a Month on or about the 1st of the month, the Builder Guild will vote to add eligible new members.

**Removal of Members:**
Should it be appropriate to remove a member of the Builder Guild due to behavior unbecoming a Builder Guildor or DAO termination, any 2 members of the Builder Guild can suggest the removal of said member, which will then be put to a binding Builder Guild vote. Removing a Builder Guildlor requires a majority decision (> 51% of Builder Guildors).

**BuilderDAO Proposals:**
The Builder Guild shall endeavor to discuss and vote on every proposal made for BuilderDAO. Builder Guild may also submit their own proposals that support the BuilderDAO mission.

**Active Builder Guildor**
A Builder Guildor is considered active who has a vote participation rate of 30% or greater and has been active in Builder Guild for at least 1 month.

**Minimum Vote Participation Rate**
Current Minimum Vote Participation Rate: 30%

If a Builder Guildor’s vote participation falls below the minimum for two consecutive months, they will be automatically removed from Builder Guild. The DAO may designate a new representative and have them apply. All Builder Guild voting records will start from scratch with a new representative.

**Presence in Discord**
It is not currently possible to participate in Builder Guild without being a member of the Nouns Builder Community Discord server. As such, leaving the Builder Guild Discord is equivalent to resigning from Builder Guild. Builder Guild may change this requirement should communication channels change at a later date.

**Changes to Builder Guild Governance**
Any Builder Guild member in good standing may propose a change to this governance document. Changes will be voted on by active Builder Guild members, with a majority vote required to effect change. Onchain vote is not required for Builder Guild governance changes but a current version of the governance document will be maintained and accessbile to all Builder Guild and BuilderDAO members.

## **Builder DAO is dedicated to the creation and development of free and accessible DAO infrastructure as a public good.**

This proposal furthers that mission by better aligning the DAOs created on Nouns.Build with BuilderDAO by allowing for agency in BuilderDAO via votes on proposals, as well as establishing a team of engaged participants to help further the BuilderDAO mission and create a solid feedback loop.

This proposal will have minimal impact on the treasury with less than .5 eth dispersed as part of this prop.
