# Cricket Premier League Auction Rules and Regulations ## Introduction Welcome to the Scaler Cricket Premier League (SCPL)! This document outlines the rules and regulations for the player auction process, ensuring a fair and exciting team-building experience for all participating teams. ## Team Composition and Budget - **Number of Teams:** 7 - **Budget per Team:** ₹2.5 Crore (₹25 Million) - **Minimum Players per Team:** 9 - **Base Price for Each Player:** ₹10 Lakh (₹1 Million) ## Auction Format 1. **Player Pool:** All players eligible for the auction will be listed with their base price. 2. **Bidding Increments:** The bidding will start at the base price of ₹10 Lakh and will increase in increments of ₹2.5 Lakh (e.g., 5 Lakh, ₹7.5 Lakh, ₹10 Lakh, and so on). ## Bidding Process 1. **Auctioneer's Role:** An auctioneer will present each player and manage the bidding process. 2. **Starting Bid:** The auctioneer will start the bidding at the player's base price. 3. **Incremental Bids:** Teams will raise their paddles to place bids. Each new bid must be exactly 2.5 Lakh higher than the previous bid. 4. **Winning Bid:** The highest bid at the fall of the auctioneer’s hammer secures the player. ## Team Building 1. **Maximum Players:** Each team must acquire minimum 9 players. 2. **Budget Management:** Teams must manage their budget of ₹2.5 Crore, ensuring they do not overspend. 3. **Player Distribution:** Teams should ensure a balanced composition of batsmen, bowlers, and all-rounders, although there are no strict quotas. ## Additional Rules 1. **Unsold Players:** Players not bought in the initial round will enter a second round, where the base price may be adjusted. 2. **Tie Bids:** In case of a tie bid, the auctioneer will conduct a final 'blind bid' where the involved teams write their final bid on paper. The highest unique bid wins. 3. **Fair Play:** Teams must adhere to the principles of fair play and sportsmanship during the auction. 4. **Disputes:** Any disputes will be resolved by the SCPL governing body, whose decision will be final and binding.
