# An ERC PR Review Blitz
Aimed at decreasing the number of Open PRs, improving review velocity, community engagement, and proposal quality in the Ethereum standards process:

## Goal

Accelerate review of open ERC pull requests (PRs) through focused collaboration and visibility, while encouraging authors, editors, and contributors to participate actively.

### 1. Planning Phase (2–3 weeks before)

#### a. Inventory & Categorization

* Host 1–2 focused calls for real-time discussion on popular or stuck PRs.
* Invite PR authors to explain their proposals in 5-min pitches.

#### c. Async Coordination
* Use GitHub issues, Discord, or FEM forum for async updates.
* Editors can comment daily on progress, blockers, or PRs needing extra help.

### 4. Wrap-Up
#### a. Achievements
Track and publish metrics:
* of PRs reviewed
* merged / closed / labeled as stagnant
* New contributors onboarded

#### b. Shoutouts
* Recognize contributors and editors publicly.
* Issue POAPs or profile badges to authors, editors, supporter and participants of the blitz.

#### c. Follow-Up
* Schedule a follow-up review call (e.g. 6 months later).
* Highlight next priorities (e.g. create editors backlog, improve templates).

## Overview
The team discussed the upcoming **ERC Blitz**, initially proposed by Sam Wilson, to address the ERC/EIP proposal backlog through a structured and collaborative review sprint.

## Planning & Structure
- **Format**: The Blitz will feature themed 1-hour daily review sessions over 2–3 weeks, ending with a 3-hour wrap-up session.
- **Date**: Tentatively scheduled for **June 10, 2025**, with preparatory work spread across the prior two weeks.
- **Platform**: Zoom confirmed for use without time limits.
- **Promotion**: Sam suggested involving **Wayleen** to support visibility and outreach.
- A **post-event report** will be published to summarize outcomes and impact.

- Continue planning and coordination of the ERC Blitz.

- Cancel pre-stream content not aligned with the updated Blitz schedule.

- Review PRs marked as **"force merge required"**.
- Provide feedback on **PR #9740 (EIP-7600)**, particularly on points raised by Pooja and Gajender.

## Decisions & Next Steps
- Proceed with ERC sessions first, followed by broader EIP PR reviews.
- Maintain June 10 as the working date for the main Blitz session.
