## Secure Deposits with Time locked minting
Minting can occur at anytime if the deposit amount is below $2k. If the amount is above $2k then a linear hold time is applied at a rate of 9 seconds per dollar of the deposit. The registered mint is an on chain event that will occur when the timer reaches zero. That allows for the smart contract to register mint events and for less friction. Registering mints also moves us closer to zkMinting model.
