# Ideas for PlasmaPy renewal proposal * ... * [Nick] SAO has a pre-doctoral program where a graduate student from another institution can spend a year or two there to do work on a research project. A possibility would be to budget for a predoc for every year of the grant, and then have multiple different students spend a year working on a contribution to PlasmaPy that is part of their thesis research. * [Nick] Perhaps have funding for a visiting scientist? A different person each year could spend ∼3 months at an institution of one of the core developers. * [Erik] View the projects as a user facility where proposals would be submitted that we could select from. Then we'd commit a developer to work with the applicant group to develop code for both said groupu and PlasmaPy. * [Erik] Build into the proposal funding for an external student (undergraduate or graduate) at say 50% time so we can entice external groupd to commit a student to work jointly with us.
