The mission of the PlasmaPy project is to foster the creation of an open source software ecosystem for plasma research and education. Our main efforts so far have been to develop PlasmaPy as a package that contains core functionality often needed by plasma physicists across subdomains.

We wish to become part of the NumFOCUS community, build collaborations with related projects who are NumFOCUS members, and raise visibility of our project. More pragmatically, we also currently lack a way to accept and use funding that is not tied to our institutions.
