# The Hall of Shame: Promises Defied ## Why are we doing this ## Current Promises Not Yet Fulfilled ## Prior Promises Delayed ### Clearing out of ROOT Room, Spring 2019 #### Total Result ROOT Room in the SAC was only planned to be cleared **3 Weeks** after the original deadline. The actual clearing was also delayed by **2 Weeks**, for a total time loss of **5 weeks** of time. #### Evidence GA, [14.02.19 20:16] [In reply to JiaJuen] Hey, glad to hear it, but any concrete timeline on when ROOT intends to clear out? Because I understand that things might need time to firm up, but a definite timeline would reassure all stakeholders, of which ROOT is one. Since only one Music Room exists, I think this need may be quite pressing. **JiaJuen**, [14.02.19 20:18] (Root Comms DVP) As mentoned by [ROOT SI DVP], we currently do not have the capacity to pursue much more. So the ROOT Room shifting does not have a set date yet but we will make it a priority to shift out once the upcoming key events are over. GA, [14.02.19 20:19] [In reply to JiaJuen] Thank you for your honesty, and I look forward to the timeline after open house and dialogue. **therealsgali**, [14.02.19 20:22] (Root President) Thanks [ARTS REP] for bringing it up! Hopefully we'll be able to clear things during Week 7 when we're all more free On a side note, can I understand why the sudden need? Were there additional equipments purchased recently? GA, [13.03.19 10:49] And @joshtannen do you have the deadline by which root will move out of the last room in the sac and into root cove? It has been nearly 3 weeks after open house **Joshua**, [13.03.19 11:23] (Root SI DVP) [In reply to GA] It might be better to discuss and finalise on the room usage first tho **Sarah Omer**, [13.03.19 20:00] (Root SI) Agenda 1. Where to relocate the Piano and Pool Tables We need a final opinion on where to place the pool table. EHS has already given their approval. 2. Locker arrangements, usage of current SAC lockers The idea of a keypress was brought up but we need to know more about the layout of the lockers and how they are going to be used. 3. Future uses of Root room before confirming vacation of Root SAC We do not know how the ROOT room will be used once vacated so we need to confirm. 4. Timeline for above tasks and how that will affect the date for shifting root out of SAC into the cove This is to better monitor the progress and not leave it like the last time. If needed, discussion of task distribution can be raised up. GA, [13.03.19 20:14] [In reply to Sarah Omer] 1. ROOT Cove. Unless circumstances have significantly changed to invalid why we previously said this was impossible, I don't see why this is still an issue. 2. We still haven't heard how many lockers are going to be making the move from space-bar. 3. It will be turned over to Arts and Maker clubs to book as necessary: since ROOT has cove, why should it not take permanent residence there? 4. Weren't you all supposed to give us this after Open House? Why are we suddenly supposed to handle this now? **Sarah Omer**, [19.03.19 17:34] (Root SI) Hello! It has been confirmed that 23 people will help move things out of the ROOT room with the 2 OSL trolleys next Monday (25th March) at 1900 hours. GA, [19.03.19 17:34] Thank you GA, [19.03.19 18:00] What time will the move be predicted to end? **Sidharth**, [19.03.19 18:01] (Root SI) Within 2-3 hours ### Returning of the ROOT Room Key, Spring 2019 GA, [26.04.19 20:36] @therealsgali hey, is ROOT still holding onto the key? therealsgali, [26.04.19 21:01] Sorry what key? therealsgali, [26.04.19 21:01] Oh yes i am GA, [26.04.19 21:22] ah GA, [26.04.19 21:22] could you hoto it to one of the SAC reps by the end of the term? because it'll be really helpful to have the key to lock up some of the more valuable things in there GA, [26.04.19 21:23] we've been privately talking and discussing with a few clubs about turning the ex-root-room into a makers' clubspace for keeping tools, etc therealsgali, [27.04.19 00:12] I dont mind, but before that do you have the plan/purpose of the room? If its just meant for important storage then do you have the list and layout? GA, [27.04.19 00:13] we've got a preliminary list of items within, mostly 3D printers therealsgali, [27.04.19 00:17] sure i think thats fine therealsgali, [27.04.19 00:17] just make sure that it wont cause any safety hazard GA, [27.04.19 00:17] they're all powered down if there's nobody in the room in the evenings therealsgali, [27.04.19 00:18] i'll update OSL sometime next week abt it GA, [24.05.19 13:19] Hey @therealsgali any updates on the key to the old ROOT room? therealsgali, [24.05.19 14:24] Will be doing the proper paperwork with OSL on Wednesday I havent been able to be in sch in the day GA, [24.05.19 14:26] thanks! Hum Qing Ze, [24.05.19 14:27] actually ah, @therealsgali why are you the one doing this? wouldn't it be better if you could assign it to literally anyone else in Root to have dealt with this or is OSL holding you down? Hum Qing Ze, [24.05.19 14:28] could like any of us help with the transition/handing over? because now i think everyone is quite tight on time therealsgali, [24.05.19 14:29] I have the key with me so therealsgali, [24.05.19 14:30] Even if i get someone to do it, that person will still have to go back to campus #### Final Result Key was eventually returned the following week, 30+ days off of the original deadline. ### Planning of Student Activities Centre documentation and Administration, Fall 2018 #### Total Result Planning and living policy documents were greatly delayed, and nearly three months went by with no movement at all whatsoever. Other non-Root representatives had to come in to establish the documents and process the required details. #### Evidence **Joshua**(Root SI Head), [15.11.18 21:58] (Root SI Head) Hey all, here is the drive for SAC with minutes, I'm in the process of creating a living doc detailing the purpose and process of this project https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1g2PUwG6pRvOKd7fW1zoKyJ9llMNxr5e6?usp=sharing GA, [15.11.18 22:00] Ok let's talk SAC GA, [15.11.18 22:14] I think it's plenty clear at this point what Gunpla as a club wants for any space, but as a student here's what I envision: A reconfigurable working space with sound dividers, deployable (and stable) tables, and decent chairs, along with probably some A/V items **Joshua**(Root SI Head), [19.11.18 22:26] Thanks for taking the first step in collaborative creation of our shared spaces. Here's a living document where you can add any (crazy) ideas you might have: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1STR6zlsaVJY80-vOcvqvfXeGYS4po6RiV2_3faRKAXo/edit?usp=sharing The full drive detailing the process and discussions about spaces: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1g2PUwG6pRvOKd7fW1zoKyJ9llMNxr5e6?usp=sharing Let's meet sometime next week to discuss any ideas raised over this week. Do share with anyone who might be interested! **Joshua**(Root SI Head), [20.11.18 20:18] Okay yall, i spoke to Prof Lim about funding for the SAC, and he recommends that we collectively decide on a creative use of the space, such that we can approach office of advancement and pitch for donors. Kayjin (Makers Representative), [20.11.18 20:21] noice **Joshua**(Root SI Head), [20.11.18 20:37] I'm most free on: Tue 7pm (1👥) Josh Wed 7pm (2👥) Josh Gui An Thur 7pm (1👥) Josh Fri 5pm (7👥) Josh Gui An Kay Yen Dionetta Estee Kay Jin Bai Can daytime also? (1👥) Josh 👥 7 people responded **Joshua**(Root SI Head), [20.11.18 20:38] Let's have a meeting next week to settle a quick ideas sharing. If u wanna meet in the day do list ur timings! **Rahul**(Root SI Head), [26.11.18 20:23] Hey guys, I suggest we have a Google Calendar booking system for the SAC. All club leaders interested can be added to the calendar. GA, [26.11.18 20:29] https://calendar.google.com/calendar?cid=bWRoNjU3MG9ubjYzMHZ2dWwzNGlyMmozNjBAZ3JvdXAuY2FsZW5kYXIuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbQ Sure, why not. Estee (Arts Representative), [26.11.18 21:08] sounds great Kayjin (Makers Representative), [26.11.18 21:10] [In reply to **Rahul**(Root SI Head)] Problem is, will that give us the ability to moderate and do checks on the person who is trusted to make a booking on the calendar? Estee (Arts Representative), [26.11.18 21:13] perhaps when we add a new event on this calendar, we could add like which club made the event and who to contact in the description? so others can look for that person if they want to swap timeslots or sth **Rahul**(Root SI Head), [26.11.18 21:23] Yep. Any booking without details given will be removed Qing Ze, [26.11.18 21:24] Suggest using github as a method to collaborate on such discussions Qing Ze, [26.11.18 21:24] Thanks @piroton https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2018/11/how-i-changed-the-law-with-a-github-pull-request/ GA, [26.11.18 21:58] @fishbiscuit as requested: https://github.com/OpenSUTD/SAC-spaceteam GA, [26.11.18 21:58] this is just the shell, I'll bash something out later once I get done with CompStructs **Joshua**(Root SI Head), [30.11.18 11:50] Hi all, since exams are coming and most of us are focusing on studying, i've discussed with @Kazykiddo and we'll not meet today. **Joshua**(Root SI Head), [30.11.18 11:51] We'll resume after finals, all the best yall Estee (Arts Representative, [30.11.18 11:53] alright Kayjin (Makers Representative), [30.11.18 11:56] Meanwhile, 5th rows with allocated shelves in the rooms may approach estee or I to unlock the doors to facilitate the shifting of items back to the room. Do note that we will be doing a termly review of space allocation, and to facilitate the justification of space, please do inventorize your items. Qing Ze, [27.12.18 20:20] Also is there any progress on moving the conversation for managing SAC in the coming year? GA, [27.12.18 20:20] More than anything it seems most clubs are more than happy to just bid and dump GA, [27.12.18 20:21] Something I'm not quite happy with Qing Ze, [28.12.18 01:20] I suppose it's the holiday mood so it might make sense to plan for January now - especially from ROOT's side **Joshua**(Root SI Head), [15.01.19 22:42] We can meet once sch reopens to straighten out the housekeeping rules, i have a tentative draft my team did up **Joshua**(Root SI Head), [15.01.19 22:42] Also root cove is now ready for stuff to move in, once the piano goes over we can shift the lockers up from spacebar to SAC **Joshua**(Root SI Head), [15.01.19 22:43] [In reply to **Joshua**(Root SI Head)] Probs when sch start also Kayjin (Makers Representative), [15.01.19 22:45] [In reply to **Joshua**(Root SI Head)] Can we view this draft? So we can start commenting. Qing Ze, [15.01.19 22:49] [In reply to **Joshua**(Root SI Head)] So the draft rules should have been done on a Google doc and be viewable by all yes? Qing Ze, [15.01.19 22:49] When school starts things are only going to get busier Qing Ze, [15.01.19 22:49] The longer we wait the less time we get **Joshua**(Root SI Head), [15.01.19 22:49] [In reply to Qing Ze] Makes sense yo Qing Ze, [15.01.19 22:49] Truth is we have only about 5 weeks more to do any real work **Joshua**(Root SI Head), [15.01.19 22:50] The draft one was in the forum slides but could be more accessible Qing Ze, [15.01.19 22:50] That's what the github was for Qing Ze, [15.01.19 22:50] You need to look a bit further ahead Qing Ze, [15.01.19 22:50] Soon osl is going to suck up your time for open house **Joshua**(Root SI Head), [15.01.19 22:50] Rn i gotta clear this week of pulsecheck also man Qing Ze, [15.01.19 22:50] Then orientation Qing Ze, [15.01.19 22:50] Yes so time is important **Joshua**(Root SI Head), [15.01.19 22:51] Osl not gonna touch us for OH thank goodness GA, [02.02.19 16:59] I've updated the living document on OpenSUTD, and I welcome any issues you'd like to raise/additions you'd like to make @fishbiscuit @joshtannen https://github.com/OpenSUTD/SAC-student-rules **Joshua**(Root SI Head), [02.02.19 17:22] Eh thanks man, sorry ive been behind this, have been swamped with openhouse **Joshua**(Root SI Head), [02.02.19 17:22] Ive heard from kayjin that osl is looking to refurbish lockers with next fy funds Qing Ze, [02.02.19 17:24] One point we need is to just have a consistent single point of contact so osl can't use "being confused that a lot of people are talking to them" as an excuse anymore Qing Ze, [02.02.19 17:24] Clean the lines of communication up and designate one person please
