### Welcome to the official walkthrough guide for PIF!
In here, we'll do our best to cover all the bases we can while keeping it as simple as we can. If you want to contribute to the guide, please DM either **casinosluck** or **sapphire_chuu** on Discord.
Guide Version Accurate as of: 6.7.2

Before beginnin your game, you may want to look at your **keybinds**. You can view them on most devices by pressing F1 or Fn + F1. If you're on mobile, your guide goes over how to change these keybinds.

:::info
Note:
Any team and encounter info in this guide will reflect **Classic**. Please keep this in mind if you plan on playing on **Remix**.
:::
## The Intro
### Game Modes
Before beginning, if you have another existing save file, the game will prompt you to choose between three modes:

- **Classic**: The originally intended way to play. Reflects the OG FRLG games for the most part.
- **Remix**: A gamemode that changes the encounter tables so that Pokemon from later generations will appear earlier (e.g Shinx on route 1). Also changes gym leaders types and teams, as well as the Elite Four.
<details>
<summary>REMIX ONLY: New Gym Types</summary>
* **Brock**: Steel
* **Misty**: Ice
* **LT. Surge**: Fighting
* **Erika**: Bug
* **Koga**: Dark
* **Sabrina**: Fairy
* **Blaine**: Psychic
* **Giovanni**: Normal
</details>
<details>
<summary>REMIX ONLY: New Elite Four Types</summary>
* **Lorelei**: Water
* **Bruno**: Rock
* **Agatha**: Poison
* **Lance**: Flying
</details>
- **Randomizer**: A gamemode that lets you randomize the game. You can control item randomization, wild Pokemon randomization, trainer randomization, etc.

- For more information on specific Randomizer options, please go to the [Wiki](https://infinitefusion.fandom.com/wiki/Randomized_Mode)
- Randomness Degree determines the BST (base stat total) range of all randomized Pokemon.

- **Legendary**: A gamemode that only appears after you have beat the Pokemon League in a save, for more info go to the [Wiki](https://infinitefusion.fandom.com/wiki/Game_Modes#Legendary_Mode)
:::info
It is recommended to play a **Classic** playthrough at least once prior to trying Remix or Randomizer. Your first save file will **always** be locked to classic but you do not need to finish the playthrough to unlock Remix and Randomizer.
:::
### Trainer Application Form
After selecting your Game Mode, you will be taken to the Trainer Application Form which is where you'll set your Name, Gender, Age, and Character Appearance.

There are some names that are Easter Eggs and will give you a custom starter, hair style, or hat.
<details>

</details>
### Game Difficulty
You will then be asked what Game Difficulty you will be playing in.

- If you select More info, it will describe what each difficulty entails. For more info: Link
- For this guide, we will be selecting Classic mode and normal difficulty.
### Custom Starters
::: warning
Remember! This prompt will only pop up if this is your second (or later) save! It will *not* show up on your first save and you *must* use the normal Kanto Starters.
:::

If you select No, you will be prompted which starters you would like from a list:

When you select Custom, you can select ANY Pokemon in the game and even any Fusion in the game.
:::warning
Warning! Selecting custom starters also gives your Rival a custom starter! This usually results in your Rival having a harder Pokemon to battle against.
:::
### Autosave
When using autosave, your last 10 most recent saves will be backed up in case of save corruption. You can revert a save at anytime using the steps below.

:::warning
If you do not enable autosave, you **will not** have any backups unless you create them manually.
:::
## Road to Badge 1: The beginning
### Pallet Town
#### At Home
You start out in your Pyjamas watching TV. Before you go downstairs and progress, you need to get dressed! You don't want to start your adventure in your Pyjamas!

Once you interact with the dresser, you will be given the Favorite Outfit which can be used to quickly change your outfit at any time via your bag or the quick actions menu (D keybind by default)
:::info
You will have access to a different outfit depending on your gender.
As a girl, you have access to the White Boater Hat, Tank Top & Skirt, and Pikachu Pyjamas.
As a boy, you have access to the Red Cap, Red Jacket and Jeans, and Pikachu Pyjamas.
*If you named yourself Ash*, you will also have access to the Partner Cap.
*If you named yourself Frogman*, you will also have access to the Frog Hat.
:::
After you get dressed, prior to going downstairs, go to your pc in the west side of your room and access your item storage for a free Potion.

When you're ready, go downstairs and talk to your Mom. She will give you a letter containing your Trainer Card and ask you to remind her about the name of your Rival.

Before you head out, talk to your sibling to get the outfit opposite of your gender.

You can also talk to your Mom again to change your hair to match your sibling.

#### Rivals House
As soon as you walk out of your house, you will be called out to by your Rival. Listen to what he says and then go to your neighbors (Rivals) house. Talking to his sister will reward you with the Town Map.

Afterwards, you can talk to your Rival's Mom to change your hairstyle to match your Rival!

#### Choosing your Starter
After leaving your Rival's House, head north towards Route 1. Oak will stop you and bring you to his lab to choose your Starter Pokemon.

After choosing your Starter, your Rival will take the other two and splice them together to create a fusion of the two! What a cheap tactic! If you have that potion from earlier, it may come in handy here! Keep in mind however, that the only drawback to losing this fight is lost experience and money. You will not black out from losing.

The Starter that your Rival has here will depend on your Starter.

</details>
#### Free Hat
While on Route 1, if you stay idle for a certain amount of time, a Pidgey may land on your head awarding you the Pidgey Nest hat

#### Free Potion
The first NPC you encounter will be a PokeMart employee who will give you a Potion as a free sample.

#### Lass Mimi
The second NPC you encounter is an optional trainer that you can walk past. Talking to her will start a battle.

<details>
<summary>Lass Mimi Team</summary>
Lass Mimi
| Pokemon | Level | Typing | Ability | Moves |
| -------- | -------- | -------- | -------- | -------- |
| Pidgey | 4 | Normal/Flying | Keen Eye or Tangled Feet | Tackle |
</details>
#### Free Oran Berry
Walk west (left) of Lass Mimi to find a Pokeball containing an Oran Berry. If given to a Pokemon to hold, it will automatically heal 10 HP during battle when it gets low.

### Viridian City
#### Pokecenter
Once you reach Viridian, heal up at the Pokecenter. This will also set your respawn point if you are defeated in battle.
#### NPC Trade - Bellsprout
Inside, you will notice an NPC with an icon above his head. This icon signals that this NPC has a trade. He will be asking for a Spearow to trade for his Bellsprout. If you chose Charmander as your starter, this is the easiest way to get a Grass type prior to Brock. You can find Spearow west of Viridan City on Route 22 in the daytime once you have Pokeballs.

#### Help Man
This is the first possible time you can talk to the Help Man. He is an NPC that allows you to change certain settings for your game as well as attempt to fix your game in case you run into a bug that needs patched up.

:::danger
Make sure you READ everything carefully when talking to the Help Man! Viewing Randomizer or Experimental Options ***will*** flag your save as Random and you will be unable to get the reward for completing the Pokedex!
:::
#### Oak's Parcel
Go directly north to the PokeMart and talk to the Shopkeeper. They will give you Oak's Parcel and your first DNA Splicer.

You won't be able to buy anything from them quite yet so go ahead and head back to Pallet Town via Route 1 to go talk to Oak.
### Pallet Town Part II
#### The Pokedex
Once you get back to Pallet Town, talk to Oak in his lab and give him the Parcel. He will give you 5 Pokeballs and the Pokedex.
:::info
If you use/throw away the splicer from the mart, Oak will not give you pokeballs
:::

Now that you have your very own Pokedex, you can change the sprites that are shown for Pokemon by going to the "Sprites" tab of the species page.

#### Extra Pokeballs
Before you leave the Lab, talk to Professor Oak's Aides to gain two additional Pokeballs.

### Viridian City Part II
#### Luvdisc Gift
:::success
This NPC only appears when you have another existing save!
:::
Back in Viridan City, go back to the PokeMart and talk to the delivery guy. He will give you a Luvdisc.

This is also a good time to stock up on supplies (Pokeballs, Potions, and/or DNA Splicers). Shopkeepers inventory will expand as you gain badges.
Viridian Mart Inventory at this time:
<details>
<summary>Left Shopkeeper:</summary>
| Item | Price |
| -------- | -------- |
| Ground Gem | ₽200 |
| Bug Gem | ₽200 |
| Heal Ball | ₽300 |

| Item | Price |
| -------- | -------- |
|  Poke Ball | ₽200 |
|  Potion | ₽200 |
|  DNA Splicers | ₽300 |
</details>
#### Trainer School
Even if you are familiar with Pokemon Games, if this is your first your time playing Infinite Fusion, it is recommended to talk to everyone here for specific tips about this game.

The NPC with the icon will tell you about Berries and give you 2 Oran Berries for free and give you the Oran Berry Hat.

#### Viridian Gym
While this is the first City, this is *not* the first Gym that you will be taking on! This Gym will stay locked until late into your main story playthrough and will actually be the last Gym you challenge!

### Route 22
Prior to travelling North, you'll want to go West to Route 22. This is also the perfect opportunity to search for a Spearow to trade for the Bellsprout in Viridan.

#### League Gate
Heading into the gate itself, you will run into Pewter City's Gym Leader, and he will explain that you need 8 Badges to actually enter the League.

There isn't much you can do inside until you get 8 badges, but you can get a free hat.

#### Peach Berry
Below the League Gate there is a pokeball with a Peacha Berry in it.
