In the Philippines, the most common name suffixes are senior and junior, which are abbreviated as Sr. and Jr. with initial capital letters, with or without preceding commas.

* Jr. - as-is, short form of "Junior"
* Sr. - as-is, short form of "Senior"
* Ⅱ - as-is
* Ⅳ - as-is

**Trivia**: Do you know that Jr. and Sr., are gender neutral, and also (rarely) used by females?

When the junior and senior suffix strings ("Jr."", "Sr."", respectively) are encountered in string names, **do not expand** them. Retain them in the same form, including the period.

For consistency, we suggest the format "<surname>, Jr." or "<surname>, Sr." after the surname. Take note of the comma and space between the lastname and the suffix.

This is also the case for American English, but in British English, "Jnr." or "Snr." is used more often, and never expanded, too.
