Member 'Johan W. Joubert'

Maybe just as a matter of introduction. I joined KU Leuven in January 2023 as, formally, Professor in Opartions Research for Logistics Planning. I (and my research group) have been users of and contributors to OpenStreetMap (albeit on a small scale, comparatively). I joined OSMbe to move a bit higher upstream and see if/where/how I can possibly contribute, either directly with targeted data and mapping projects, or with other activities.

I am member of the KU Leuven Institute for Mobility - so it is easy for us to spend some resources (students, research capacity, equipment?) towards the gathering/preparation/handling of mobility-related data. We have access to cool resources called "students", mainly at Masters and PhD level. I'd be happy to put them to (good) work.

I know that help is only HELP if it is really help, so I would be happy to chat offline with the board to hear where there is clear overlaps where we can assist. We are mostly obliged to ensure our research (associated data and output) is published publicly ;-) Easy to do PR and give exposure to OSMbe in all research presentations.
