OpenStreetMap Belgium corporate membership
### e-mail EN
OpenStreetMap Belgium just launched a [Corporate Membership program](https://openstreetmap.be/en/support.html). Would you be interested to join this?
As a Corporate Member you get these benefits:
* OpenStreetMap Belgium will promote specific mapping activities that are beneficial to you
* Limited free consultancy: we will help you analyse business cases that could work with OpenStreetMap (max 8 hours)
* We will help you engage with the community when you do projects in Belgium
* We will put your logo on our front page and show it during events
* You can mention a link to OpenStreetMap Belgium in your own communications
* And of course your will get instant karma
We're also thinking of creating a sort of "knowledge network" where our corporate members can meet each other, as well as the Board.
OpenStreetMap Belgium still operates on a very small budget. Right now, we can afford to pay for our servers and an occasional train ticket.
With your help, we aim to:
* Systematically refund transport costs for volunteers at events
* Give hi-viz vests to volunteer mappers
* Create promotional materials
* Give a volunteer fee to mappers who organize activities or join meetings with partners
* Larger donations will help us fund one or more of our [projecten](https://openstreetmap.be/en/projects.html) and help us professionalize our organization, for example to apply for subsidies and get more administrative and communication support.
The yearly cost for SMEs is 1000 euro, for others it is 5000. Let us know if you have any doubts, suggestions or questions - and thank you for the support we've already gotten over the past years!
All the best,
### E-mail NL
* Systematisch transportkosten terugbetalen van vrijwilligers die meehelpen op events
* Fluo hesjes verdelen onder onze vrijwillige mappers
* Promomateriaal maken
* Een vrijwilligersvergoeding geven aan mappers die zich speciaal inzetten voor de organisatie, zoals door ons te vertegenwoordigen op meetings of activiteiten op te zetten
* Grotere donaties zullen ons helpen om onze [projecten](https://openstreetmap.be/nl/projects.html) verder uit te bouwen, en de organisatie te professionaliseren door subsidie-aanvragen te doen, en door praktische ondersteuning van administratieve en communicatie.

# Renewal mail 12/2023
This is Joost from OpenStreetMap Belgium, the VZW/ASBL. Indeed, over the past year, we have been able to separate from Open Knowledge Belgium and start our own organisation. As you may have picked up already, Open Knowledge Belgium has been going through some rough times. The cost/benefit of being part of a larger organization shifted quite a bit, and we decided it was a good time to go solo. This has quite a few advantages. Obviously in focus, and also because now we don’t have overhead costs anymore. Another plus is that now we have actual legal bylaws, in which we also enshrined Corporate Membership.
As we have gone through some turbulent times, we haven’t really been able to stay in touch with you, our valued Corporate Member, as much as we would have liked to. But now, we are entirely back on our feet. We have [a new KBO/BCE number](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/osmbe/working-group-bylaws/master/publication%20in%20Belgisch%20Staatsblad%20-%20Moniteur%20Belge%2023441936.pdf), we have [new bylaws](https://github.com/osmbe/working-group-bylaws/blob/master/README.md), and we’re ready to roll.
Not to say we have been idle over the past year. With TomTom as an organizing partner, we set up a State of the Map Europe. It has been a blast, with 300 enthusiasts from all over Europe and the world getting together in Antwerp. And it planted a seed – we are sure it will *not* take another decade before the next SotM EU is launched.
We also kept up the Camera Grant project, with four 360 cameras travelling across the country. The traffic sign project is now fully automated, and the Road Completion project is still fully operational.
We would like to pick things up with you where we left off as well. Would you like to have a conversation with us about how we can work together in the next year? Officially, your corporate membership ended/will end on **DATE**. Can we count on your continued support in the future? We do have plenty of ideas of what to work on next!
