## Talk suggestions:
### CANCELED panel talk about open streetlevel imagery
There are very many users who need pictures of the streets. Government need them for daily operations. Path preservers need them to document the existance of paths. OpenStreetMap needs them to add detail to their map.
Still, there has never been open data streetlevel imagery untill the OpenStreetMap community and some others started crowdsourcing them. In Flanders, there used to be street level imagery available for the government only. This project has stopped. Since then, the landscape has been divided. This means a duplication of effort and a lack of universal coverage.
Is it possible to create more street level imagery as open knowledge? What is stopping the government to do this? What makes this hard to do for the private sector? Does this need to change? And how do we do that?
Write out the idea and start recruting!
- Vansteelandt Koen.vanderweerden@vansteelandt.be > they said NO ; Fluvius
- WVI (West-Vlaamse intercommunale)
- Somebody from Flemish political level to share their vision (via Thierry?)
- A non-OSM user, e.g. Dirk Dedoncker (mobility consultant from Halle)
- a municipality (like Ham)

#### SEPPE IS SUBMITTING Building a crowd you can trust with Visit Flanders
**Abstract**
Visit Flanders has been publishing open data of walking and cycling networks for about 10 years. Recently, a new data need was put forward by their partners in the private sector. People were looking for places to rest along their walking routes or they were looking for places to charge their e-bike along a bicycle trip. The data for these points of interest were scattered over many different sources or even unexisting up till now. Visit Flanders decided they could help the crowd to collect these data without them having to own the result. Together with OpenStreetMap Belgium and the MapComplete team, the tool "Pin je Punt" was built that allows local partners to add their local data. Visit Flanders facilitates, validates and publishes the data for their end users.
The project will be introduced by Visit Flanders. A very brief description of the technical solution will be given by Pieter Vander Vennet, lead MapComplete developer. We close with the point of view of the data consumer.

Visit Flanders was confronted with a new data need from their partners in the private sector, for example bicycle charging stations. They decided they could help the crowd collect this data without them having to own the result. Together with OpenStreetMap Belgium and the MapComplete team, a tool was built that allows local partners to add their local data. Visit Flanders facilitates, validates and publishes the data for their end users.
The project will be introduced by Visit Flanders. A very brief technical description will be given by Pieter Vander Vennet, lead MapComplete developer. We close with the point of view of the data consumer.
We will also facilitate a workshop in two parts:
- teach the use of the tool
- re-use of the tool: how it can work for different themes, how you can use it to validate and integrate your own data
**Workshop**
- pinjepunt gebruiken
- dieper ingaan op technische luik
- uitnodigen voor meetup
#### Content schematics
HOE TECHNISCH (Pieter)
* de tools zijn beschikbaar om dit gemakkelijk te maken voor iedereen
* MapComplete: geen achtergrondkennis nodig
* MapComplete: modulair, niet telkens van nul beginnen
* elk project, nieuwe features: hier nieuwe "import" flow
RESULTATEN

* hoeveel gebruikers, hoeveel punten
OUTCOME (Seppe)
* hoe hergebruik in de praktijk gemakkelijk wordt gemaakt
* gedrukte kaart WestToer
* WFS services om te verdelen
* nadruk dus op meer dan "automatisch in basemap"
LEARNINGS (Seppe)
* "Maintaining high quality datasets is hard work"
* overheid werkt te vaak op eilandjes
* "Many hands (can) make light work"
* "Focus on reuse is still new for government"
#### original content
topics:
- Why Westtoer uses OSM and you should too
- Pin je punt (Toerisme Vlaanderen)
- interested: Seppe will lead, Pieter VDVN, Joost; Jos from Toerisme Vlaanderen
