The application process and regulation are expected to be more complicated. The view is more authentic and less costly IMO. * If you don't really need to have many local people to join I recommend Tainan. More authentic and likely to find street like this ![截圖 2024-10-06 中午12.05.55](https://hackmd.io/_uploads/B1e2nFJykl.png) * If you prefer a more natural county, Taitung might be a good choice * Most of the co-working spaces in Tainan are repurposed from unused buildings, and the interior designs are all government-planned, making them quite boring. If you need fast internet, you’ll have to visit these uninspiring places or go to large hotels and high-end guesthouses. So, places that are both cool and have good internet may not exist. What you can do is find a cool place first, and then figure out the internet situation afterward. ## Appendix ### Tainan Historical Sites Tainan Confucius Temple: https://maps.app.goo.gl/szma78Z5PpoZ4sAc8 Built in 1665, it was the only place for young students to enroll during the early Qing dynasty, earning it the title of “First School in Taiwan.” It could be an inspiring place to work and study in the oldest school in Tainan. De Yang Ship: https://maps.app.goo.gl/gkvQKfCdrZWTFTHp9 A WWII U.S. warship, now Taiwan's only naval museum. Its former helicopter hangar is now a café, offering stunning sunset views. Open until 7 PM. Shui Jiao She: https://maps.app.goo.gl/d3ub1uuhLdfcGKKw7 A traditional Japanese house used by the Japanese Navy’s aviation corps during WWII (including the Kamikaze squadron), later became an American military club and an Air Force dependents' village. Now, the venue is co-operated with Wei Wei Light, a wedding company, and also hosts art exhibitions, lessons, and dances. Shen Nong Street: https://maps.app.goo.gl/fdxzNnFq8F69tx5MA A street dating back to the Qing dynasty, where the Wu Tiao Gang Association runs an old house owned by a history professor at Cheng Kung University. You might be able to ask if you can rent the space. Nearby is WE Drink Beer Company, a craft beer brewery that also offers venue rentals. ## Notes Some TODOs: - Add more info and more events - E.g. capacity, hours, cost - Maybe diff organization (conf/meetup line blurry) - Vetted, e.g. events previously hosted - Possibly contact where relevant - More on different locations -
