We have some very excited announcements to stay in touch with open science funding, events and opportunities - please see below! Do you know someone who’d love to learn more about open science? Why not invite them to [join us](https://osc-delft.github.io/join) so they don’t miss out on these opportunities? **Community Announcements** - **New community Slack space - [please join us](https://join.slack.com/t/osc-delft/shared_invite/zt-857n65au-tz0kMaLXweiMlwpPPeXR2g)!** We hope to set this up as a welcoming and safe space for our community members to ask open science Qs, exchange views and share opportunities and resources. *We'll also be sending everyone who's not in the Slack group yet a personal invitation!* - Following dialogue sessions earlier this year, the **TUD Recognition & Reward** committee has shared a Perspective document summarising efforts so far and kicking start actions to modernise the recognition & reward system, in line with open science principles. More to follow in September! - Our apologies: because of a technical glitch, some members who signed up late 2020 did not receive this community newsletter until today. **Opportunities** - The **Convergence Health and Technology Open Research Awards** aim to recognize and reward master students and early career researchers adopting open research practices in healthcare and technology. [Find out today](https://osc-delft.github.io/posts) about how you can nominate yourself or your colleagues for this prize, by Aug 31. - The fourth round of a **global, open research training and mentorship programme** is now calling for application, until July 15. Thanks to a new partnership, PhD candidates at the Faculty of Applied Sciences can now get 5 discipline-specific graduate school credits for participating in the programme. [Find out more and apply now](https://openlifesci.org), and please reach out to Emmy or Esther if you have any questions re applying. - The **European Open Science Cloud (EOSC)** Association is recruiting members for its 13 task forces, which will shape EOSC's work for the next 1-2 years. TUD staff can [apply to join](https://www.eosc.eu/news/call-members-eosc-association-task-forces); deadline July 30. - Lacuna Fund seeks [Expressions of Interest (EOI) for **Machine Learning Datasets for Better Healthcare Outcomes**](https://lacunafund.org/apply/) to unlock, create, aggregate, and/or improve labeled datasets that can support more equitable healthcare outcomes, by July 21. - Spencer Foundation's [Small Research Grant on Education Program](https://www.spencer.org/grant_types/small-research-grant) supports **education research projects** that will contribute to the improvement of education, with up to 50k USD. Full proposal deadline: Sep 1. - Creative Commons Global Summit 2021 is [calling for proposals](https://creativecommons.org/2021/06/02/the-2021-cc-global-summit-call-for-proposals-is-now-open/) - are you working on open education and scholarship projects that you'd like to share with a bigger audience?
