**N00b Entry**
- Familiarise yourself with various blockchain technologies and choose your ecosystem
- In the case of Polkadot: dive into the white papers, substrate, parachains, github repos if you are a developer
- Establish a presence in the community and build a reputation, take part in the ecosystem, contribute to various projects
- Learn and gain experience as a builder, designer, content creator, marketeer etc
---
TL;DR:
- Find a project you love
- Contribute for free
- Get hired
---
maybe at some point you want to make your own project, like we did. If you do feel inclined to do so, then:
- Define a problem
- Do R&D
- Outline a solution
- Defining a clear path to achieve your goal
- If you need a team find one in the community or outside of it
- Seek Parity’s guidance on which funding to apply for
---
**Ordum: working with a team and the issues at hand; Funding, Co-operation, management, R&D, UX/UI, front end and blockchain development**
**The chaos of Governance**
- Kusama gov and the issues faced: double proposal, rallying the community to vote, high bonds, pre-image etc
- Expect delays and have a safety net with a side gig
**Financials and admin**
- Before you even apply, agree how every team member is paid to understand how you will manage your funds, pay taxes etc
- If needed; incorporate a company, look into the jurisdiction and laws of where you are incorporating it
- Keep your funds either in a bank account or stablecoins due to currency volatility
- If you opt in for stables; make sure to diversify and keep them in cold wallets or various accounts, create a multi sig
**Building together and being on the same page**
- Establishing a pipe-line
- Which tools will you use?
- Making sure your communications are on point and that everyone understands each other
- Define a work schedule and internal deadlines
- WRITE DOCUMENTATION
- Manage your accounts
- Have fun and if things go wrong; use memes
- Don’t be afraid to ask for help and be honest of your shortcomings
**Development issues**
- Don’t move fast and break things because your project can collapse like a house of cards and you will need to fix it with glue and duck tape. Spend time on R&D and define the architecture of your project. Read about issues in the community, ask questions. You will highly likely pivot but try to make your project as bullet proof as possible: Don’t over-design your project but don’t move fast and break things. There has to be a balance
- Everything will take 3 times as much than you expect, this is an emerging technology with a lot of dependencies: Dependencies will break and you will need to rely on someone else to fix it
- A lot of things will be learned through trial and error
- UI/UX challenges and defining friction in governance across multiple blockchain ecosystems: Ela
- Outline development issues with token abstraction, milestone architecture, account creation and management
- Outline front end and database issues: rewriting the code from react to next, designing a centralised and decentralised database which work together

**What to add when we hand in ordum:**
- Collecting Feedback
- Iterating
- Submitting a report
