Dear Community,
We are delaying the release of our “MVP” for 2 additional weeks as it is our goal to deliver a functioning and secure product. This is not necessarily required of us and we have been advised not to include some advanced features within the dapp, however, we are determined to do so due to the amount of effort, research and design we put into this project. The team is very eager to share these functions and test them immediately to see if there are any cans of worms that may be opened.
**Our current plan is to:**
- Demo to Parity this week
- Iterate and finalise the development by the end of the week
- Send it to 50-ish frens, advisors and experts for aeview and feedback
- Complete final iterations and release the test-net version to the community for 10 days testing and feedback
- Iterate based on the information above
- Deploy Ordum to main net
- Apply for next proposal
I would like to take the opportunity to share the features that Ordum will release:
### **1. On-chain account creation and management with PHAT smart contracts**
- We researched and wrote smart contracts which will enable users to create their profiles on-chain
- Goal: improve accountability, data aggregation (based on project types, blockchains, numbers of applications, numbers of milestone deliveries)
- Create and join teams as DAOs, sync /unsync your team members within every proposal
- Create a profile as an individual, add your skills, previous and current work/projects/jobs! The goal is to help builders find each other and spawn great projects
- Track the amount of applications and deliveries for every team and individual
- Invite new team members or freelancers working on the proposal to create an Ordum profile and sync it
### 2. Seamless UX with logins and proposal submissions
###
**Platform Usage**
As you may know, in order to use any blockchain service, the user requires tokens; in our instance Phala and Crust. We will create an Ordum wallet which will be stored in a secure off-chain Phala enclave. When a user signs up for an account, our wallet will send them tokens to use the platform. This will be resolved in the future with a subscription based model and/or our own parathred, but currently we are giving it up free of charge.
This has proven to be an interesting experiment as we are looking to have anonymous voting functionalities within Ordum.
**Proposal Submissions**
- Complete pre-image abstraction (no more PJS usage)
- No more execution block inputs; the user needs to state when their project begins and the backend calculates the block automatically
- No need to calculate your KSM for the application, the user just needs to input the USD amount and the UI calculates the KSM amount for the user
- Users don’t eve need to select a track anymore; the UI allocates the track based on the requested USD amount
- TL;DR is limited to 800 characters
**Bye bye Google Docs and third party services**
- Ordum will have its own text editor with the (Kusama template included) within the proposal submission user journey
- Each edit of the submitted on-chain proposal will be registered in the smart contract and UI, the community will know when a proposal is changed, where and how many times
- The most up-to date proposal will be stored in Mango DB, once it is pushed on-chain the proposal is then pinned on Crust IPFS and indexed as a modification/change, making it immutable, while the smart contracts references all of this with a hash.
### **3. Grant management + tracking**
- Every applicant will be able to see their deadlines and reminders that their milestones and grants are due
- The applicants will be able to save their draft proposals in Ordum (MangoDB) and come back to these when they wish to continue working on them
### **4. Accountability on steroids | ALL ON-CHAIN**
###
- In the proposal “milestone phase” the applicant is required to input every cost, duration, task and assignee
- The milestones are tracked with the smart contract and the user is notified about their deadlines
- Eventually: followers of the proposal will be able to see when deadlines are missed, tasks/milestones updates
- Pivoting: if the project wishes to pivot, they must state why and this pivot will be indexed in both the smart contract and UI so that the community can keep track of these changes
- Edits: Edits will be tracked the same way the proposal description edits are tracked.
**Note:** The milestone UI is also the inception of decentralised project management tooling for the Polkadot ecosystem, which can be reused for multiple different purposes and applications. We plan to expand on this tool as we go.
### **5. On-chain and off-chain notifications**
- New proposals (on-chain)
- Deadlines approaching (off-chain)
—> we will keep working on these but this is the beginning
### **6. A centralised place for all documentation and information in regards to the Kusama treasury!**
### **Last but not least!**

- It will look pretty!

Thank you all again for being patient! We look forward to going live and sharing our work with the community!
