# Open Philippine LGU Data: WikidataCon 2021 meetup ["Finished adding (digitizing) the boundaries of the 15 barangays of the municipality of Mapandan, Pangasinan into @OpenStreetMap, creating their @Wikidata items, and linking the two datasets with each other. #OpenData"](https://twitter.com/__seav__/status/1449257512289533954) —@\_\_seav\_\_ ![Mapandan barangays in OSM](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FBzLt55VEAUiYUA?format=jpg&name=large) ![Mapandan barangays in Wikidata](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FBzLwveVQAABWHf?format=jpg&name=large) ## Current status (rough!) ### Wikidata - Property [Philippine Standard Geographic Code (P988)](https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Property:P988) was created on October 23, 2013 and is the first PH-related property created in Wikidata - Other LGU-related property: [income classification (P1879)](https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Property:P1879) - 3 island groups, 17 regions (and 1 for Negros Island Region), 81 provinces (and several former provinces), and all +1,600 cities and municipalities have Wikidata items - 2020 census population data has already been imported into Wikidata by Exec8 - 3,455 barangay Wikidata items, but only 2,983 have P988 (PSGC) - There are still many (hundreds?) of Wikidata items created from and linked to Wikipedia articles that are barangays but do not have `instance of (P31)` set to `barangay (Q61878)`. Example: [`New Culaylayan (Q18608780)`](https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q18608780) of Linapacan, Palawan - Issue: Import of items from the Cebuano Wikipedia has created hundreds of duplicate Wikidata items on places (mostly municipalities).
