# OCF Monthly Community Forum - July 2022

*[Who are you? Where are you from? What initiative are you with? What brought you to the forum? What is a sub-culture or social group you belong to that helps you become your best self?]*
* Jac + Luc - Circle City Mutual Aid - Try to make the forum whenever possible. Jac is held accountable by CCMA as a social group. Luc is part of the cosplay culture and used to enjoy going to conventions pre-pandemic.
* Karen - The Missing Piece - Came to the forum to present some work on their project in Wisconsin to create healing listening spaces. Part of a (not-so) Young Adult book club particularly dystopian fiction. Also, holds a murder mystery party.
* Richard - Open Source Collective - Enjoys joining the forum and meeting others here. Andrew Liptak released a book on the history of cosplay that Richard recommends everyone check out. Part of a sub-group of central Vermont writers.
* Lynn - The Missing Piece - Came to share what they are doing in their collective. Part of a sub-culture of peers in recovery from mental health and substance use who hold space for everyone to create wellness in their life in a sustainable way. Helps her to become her best self because it is vulnerable.
* Nathan - Open Collective Foundation - Joins the forum to meet everyone and does policy compliance. Sometimes can support with blockers. Used to be part of college radio. Also part of a Euchre club in New York.
* Jacob - Rocket Web Framework Foundation - New to OCF and Foundation created a framework to help people make safer websites. Came to the forum to meet others. Part of sub-Reddit called Reddit Serials who is now an editor of the serials.
* Mike - Program Manager at OCF/Kola Nut Collaborative/Cooperation for Liberation/PATHS Chicago - Joined the forum because he enjoys holding space and listening to others stories. Part of the house music subculture of Chicago and preparing for Chosen Few weekend.
* Shakeel - Fund Out of School - Provides youth with funding for afterschool and summertime activities without cost as a barrier. Came to the forum to network and build with others. Practices maroon culture to become best self.
* Robert - LWC - Longshore worker who has recently applied to host a 20 year old labor reform group. Also a part of the union Troublemaker/Labor Notes as a sub-culture.
* Aleta - LandCorps - Part of the house head subculture which they call ecstatic healing dance. Also part of maroon village healing.
* Huan - Wechaty - Open-source conversational SDK for virtual chat bot building. Also an Android GitHub and machine language specialist. Here to meet the OCF team since they offer many benefits to the project that he hosts.
* Melissa - Community Bridge/Koku-Roko Tribe - Part of a Kemetic (ancient African) healing subculture which have been supporting a healing journey.
* Sergio - Rocket Web Framework Foundation - Came to the forum after an onboarding call and wanted to talk to others who are part of the network. Part of a salsa dance subculture which is about a conversation.
* Ebony - Cooperative Journal Media - Multimedia platform which focuses on how artists can get their needs met in the solidarity economy. Part of Black Banjo Reclamation Project subculture.
