1 on 1 questions
How did you find oneleif?
Suzy: on slack meet a mentor (from reddit) last year november, been developing for about a decade, as a way to get back into development
Zach:
Sab:
What made you want to interact with the members?
Suzy: just to chat, nothing specific. amazing resources, design tools, new tech, keep her coming back
How would you describe oneleif as an organization? What if you had to explain what we do to a new member?
Suzy: 2 things. 1st: developer work for charity. 2nd: community of developers, old and new. in software gather to learn, share, and grow together. without eliteism of other developer communities. Friendly and no judhement
What makes you stay in oneleif?
Suzy: she was inactive and came back. She came back due to sabein nudging her.
What do you see the future of oneleif being?
Suzy:
How could the community managers help you/ the organization better?
Suzy: tough one because we are such an open community. Common problem with anything open source: total randos in and out, things get unmaintained.
What would make oneleif more awesome in your eyes? What would draw more members?
Suzy: more charity work. keep reaching out to them. Educational game to send a message to the world. Vague questions about projects/develpment. Rely on community for more work. More work for complete noobies.Encourage ideas.
What do you like most about oneleif?
Suzy: deveoper community that isn't elitest at all. Open and supportive.
What do you dislike most?
Suzy: missing a clear goal sometimes. mission and goal is unclear sometimes. refined mission statement communicated in discord.
What would you change about oneleif?
Suzy: more projects on board. see what to change in time.
What role do you see yourself having in oneleif? How would your role grow? How would you grow to meet your goals?
Suzy: naturally became the writer. Zach has bugged her to be PR person lol. Occasionaly a lurker. Neither the developer nor the designer. More the writer. Sharing dev work less.
Not PR but getting there. Loves writing for oneleif. In the future more developer stuff. nonprofit game?
Final thoughts and feedback
Suzy: Timezones. An admin in other timezones.
