Katana is a new chain incubated by Polygon and GSR, featuring core applications like Morpho, Sushi, Yearn, Universal, and more. Yearn started working on Katana in May 2024, building one of the first iterations of Vault Bridge. The idea for Katana has never changed from the start - build a chain with the highest yield and deepest liquidity using all sources of onchain revenue. Katana generates this revenue from Vault Bridge, sequencer fees, token emissions, and more. Yearn serves Katana as the technology powering all pre-deposit vaults, as well as the transition of those funds from Ethereum into Katana once it's live. Yearn will be operating select Vault Bridge strategies, as well as an array of high performing, risk-adjusted vaults and strategies for all viable sources of yield on Katana.
