- checked performance and could reproduce benchmarks
- looking into the use of the optimized IO routines as a possible new backend for the N5 API
- Tischi: why IMS? good for middlerange data
- parallel codec to go along with HDF5s optimized IO routines
- Mark: looking to add as another N5 API backend

* Remote downsampling
- Keller is/wwas worried about subresolutions
- split downsampled resolutions from the original volume
- bidirectionality is an issue; can put the slow version on something other than S3

* Compression
- wavelets as an option for partial reads compared to lossy/jpeg
- jpeg in numcodecs
- zarr_implementations for testing

* S3 in general
- remote viewing
- permissions as a train-wreck. wild-west compared to POSIX.

* bioformats2raw
