# LSD Directory

The LSD directory can be accessed from https://lsd.lifesci.dundee.ac.uk/ within the University firewall

## Active OME groups

The following three groups are actively used in our systems:

- [omedev](https://lsd.lifesci.dundee.ac.uk/groups/cn=omedev,ou=groups,ou=lifesci,o=dundee/view):
- Defines the combined OME team (GS+UoD)
- Allows access to the UoD servers
- Allows authentication in the QA app
- Managers: sbesson, cxallan, czmacleod, jamoore, jburel
- [omerepo](https://lsd.lifesci.dundee.ac.uk/groups/cn=omerepo,ou=groups,ou=lifesci,o=dundee/view):
- Gives permissions for managing filesets under the curated QA repository (/uod/idr/repos/curated)

- [ome-linux-admins](https://lsd.lifesci.dundee.ac.uk/groups/cn=OME-Linux-Admins,ou=groups,ou=lifesci,o=dundee/view):
- gives sudo right on UoD servers

- likely used for the initial CLS gallery service
- the service has been migrated to sls-repo.opennmicroscopy.org but this LDAP group might be unused.
- Action: Delete or ingore?
- [omednsops](https://lsd.lifesci.dundee.ac.uk/browse/cn=omednsops,ou=groups,ou=lifesci,o=dundee):
- members: jamoore, sbesson, jburel, cyscott-x
- Unclear what the scope is. Based on the name, could be related to the management of internal DNS records.
- But the DNS service is broken (DNS changes via UoD IT tickets)
- Action: delete or ignore

- remove or keep Glencoe people?
- add more UoD people?
- All active group: managers list
- Reduce it to UoD people only? or keep GS people?
- Generalize/unify usage of -x accounts for Glencoe team?
