Das Bundesgesetz über die Digitalisierung der Verwaltung ([EMBAG](https://www.admin.ch/gov/de/start/dokumentation/medienmitteilungen.msg-id-87454.html)) ist Teil der [Prioritäten für die digitale Schweiz](https://www.admin.ch/gov/en/start/documentation/media-releases.msg-id-80379.html) und sieht vor, dass die Bundesverwaltung ihre **Daten grundsätzlich der Öffentlichkeit zur kostenlosen Nutzung und Weiterverwendung** zur Verfügung stellt. Damit verbunden sind Revisionen von Bundesgesetzen, die unter anderem die generelle Gebührenpflicht abschaffen werden.
