Als Teil einer landesweiten Initiative transformieren wir in unserem Hackathon die neuesten Forschungen aus der Swiss AI Initiative in praktische, offene, lokale und verantwortungsvolle Anwendungen. Wir erhalten frühzeitigen Zugang zu einem neuen, in der Schweiz entwickelten LLM-Modell, das Texte generiert, Inhalte erstellt und menschenähnliche Konversationen führt. Werden Sie Pionier und entdecken Sie, wie sich Kreativität und Innovation für Sie und Ihre Umgebung neu definieren. Lassen Sie uns neue Grenzen in folgenden Bereichen anpacken:

Um das Beste aus der Hackathon herauszuholen, solltest Du dich vorab mit den Grundlagen der Arbeit mit LLMs, RAGs und GenAI vertraut machen. Melde dich an und Frage uns nach Lernhilfen!

- **Team Building:** Gemeinsam entwickeln wir Prototypen, die die Fähigkeiten des Modells demonstrieren und dabei gleichzeitig Privatsphäre, Sicherheit und gesellschaftliche Auswirkungen berücksichtigen.
- **Prompt Engineering:** Erlerne neue Fähigkeiten und multimodale generative Fähigkeiten (Text, Code, Kunst und mehr). Keine Black Box: finde raus, wie das Modell aufgebaut ist, erkunde gemeinsam die Grenzen des Modells und gebe Verbesserungsvorschläge ab.
- **Top Training:** Wir laden Experten aus Startups, Universitäten und Industrie aus der ganzen Region ein, um Dich und Dein Team zu beraten, Ergebnisse zu optimieren und diese zu verifizieren.
- **Spass:** Ein Event wie ein Hackathon wäre ohne eine Menge unterhaltsamer und entspannender Aktivitäten nicht komplett. Wir werden nicht sparen und serviere ein kulinarisches Crème de la Crème, Erfrischungen aus dem blauen Wasser der Aare, Emme und Saane sowie eine Prise Inspiration vom Gipfel des Berner Oberlandes!

#### Anmeldung

Die Anzahl der Plätze am Hackathon ist begrenzt (11 Challengers + 91 Hacker:innen), und die Anmeldungen werden nach dem First-Come-First-Served-Prinzip bearbeitet, um einen fairen Zugang und eine breite Vielfalt zu gewährleisten.

Jedoch: Mit einem Besucher:in-Ticket haben alle die Möglichkeit, die Ergebnisse im Rahmen des Finales an einem grossen öffentlichen Ort zu sehen.

Nous bénéficierons d'un accès anticipé à un nouveau modèle LLM élaboré en Suisse qui génère du texte, crée du contenu et engage des conversations à l'instar d'un être humain. Soyez un pionnier/e en découvrant comment cette technologie redéfinit la créativité et l'innovation pour tous. Ouvrons de nouvelles frontières dans les domaines suivants:

- **Constitution d'équipes:** Nous travaillerons ensemble pour créer des prototypes qui démontrent les capacités du modèle tout en respectant la vie privée, la sécurité et l'impact sur la société.
- **Conception de prompts:** Apprenons de nouvelles compétences et les capacités de génération multimodale (texte, code, art, etc.), le construction de modèle, explorons ensemble ses limites et proposeons des améliorations.
- **Formation de haut niveau:** Nous inviterons des experts des startups, universités et de l'industrie de toute la région, afin de nous conseiller, d'optimiser les résultats et de vérifier les résultats obtenus.
- **Détente:** Un événement comme un hackathon ne serait pas complet sans de nombreuses activités amusantes et relaxantes, et nous ne manquons la chance. We get early access and dive into new models from the Swiss AI Initiative that generates text, creates content and has human-like conversations. Become a pioneer and discover how this redefines creativity and innovation for you and your surroundings. Let's open new frontiers of:

- **Team Building:** We work together to build prototypes that demonstrate the model's capabilities while respecting privacy, security and societal impact.
- **Prompt Engineering:** Learn new skills and multimodal generative capabilities (text, code, art and more). Learn how the model is built, explore the model's limits together and suggest improvements.
- **Top Training:** We invite experts from startups, universities and industry across the region to advise you and your team, optimise results and verify outcomes.
- **Fun:** An event like a hackathon would not be complete without a lot of entertaining and relaxing activities, and we will not be sparing. Alongside a gastronomic crème de la crème, we will bring refreshments from the blue of the Aare, Emme and Saane, and a piece of inspiration from the top of the Bernese Oberland!

#### Registration

Spaces at the hackathon are limited (11 challengers + 91 hackers), and registrations will be confirmed on a rolling basis in order to ensure fair access and diversity.
However: everyone with a visitor's ticket will receive a chance to see the results in the event finale at a large public venue.

### _Embracing full openness - A swiss language model built for the public good_

> This summer, EPFL and ETH Zürich will release a large language model (LLM) developed on public infrastructure. Trained on the “Alps” supercomputer at the Swiss National Supercomputing Centre (CSCS), the new LLM marks a milestone in open-source AI and multilingual excellence and supports sovereign, transparent, and responsible AI in Switzerland and beyond.

# Location

In Köniz/Liebefeld, on the city border with Bern and next to the well-known [Vidmarhallen](https://www.vidmar.ch/), **[Workspace & More](https://workspaceandmore.com/)** ([swisstopo map](https://s.geo.admin.ch/wjwaudi6f8sv)) offers top modern workspaces and meeting rooms at flexible pay as you go conditions, and will be our hub for the **Swiss {ai} Weeks** in Bern.


Built last year according to SIA500 standards, barrier-free and on the ground floor of a building of high Minergie standard, we aspire to the meet the highest criteria of climate neutrality, [zero food waste](https://zerolunchwaste.com/1e5ce5e0-615e-4661-9bf8-07d810502cbd?campaign=homepage), and circularity. During the hackathon, a Vietnamese food truck will be one of the gastronomy options available.


Our workspace is located in the heart of Bern's digitalization scene in Liebefeld, affectively known as _Silicon Lovefield_. Innovative companies such as Unic, Lambda IT or Oxon meet established companies such as PHOENIX Pharma Switzerland, the BEKB or the Federal Office of Health BAG. We are supporting local startups and non-profits through discounts and events.


It almost goes without saying that we have the fastest, most reliable, and safest Internet connection in the neighbourhood. You additionally can take advantage of smart whiteboards and breakout rooms during the hackathon.

🚏 In addition to many bicycle parking spaces, we have several free parking spaces. In the immediate vicinity, there is also a public parking garage, as well as the large parking lot of the Weissenstein sports halls.
