...is an [open source project](https://github.com/streetwise) developed by Oleg with our partner [IVO](https://io-ag.ch) in Lucerne and data scientists from University of Fribourg. We are reproducing research based on Mapillary's open data aimed at understanding how pedestrians and unmotorized road users perceive safety and comfort in every day street situations.

### Why Frictionless Data for Urban Planning?
The planning/architecture/goverment world relies on versioned documents. Current "solution" for this in reality: PDFs, often rasterized for maps and other data based graphics. Our goal is to **make (spatial) data traceable, portable and reliable.**

Vision: Open, accessible and standardized spatial data on local energy, mobility, land use and infrastructure - for every municipality! - to enable a holistic data-driven planning approach as a key to a sustainable and livable future in our built environment.

### Frictionless = Decentralized !
The origin, collection and storage of data are critically discussed in Switzerland. We are part of the data ownership / open interfaces debate, e.g. at Opendata.ch/2020 - and are keen to use the FD standards and ecosystem to enable a wide variety of contributors and maintainers. We are also exploring the use of decentralized funding platforms like OpenCollective.
