# Research collaborations
Researchers are generally very busy and have little time to make substantial contributions to the work of other colleagues.
This often leads to researchers not engaging in collaborations because they feel they will not contribute enough to be included as co-authors.
This in turn can lead to reduced knowledge transfer and lower quality publications.
The purpose of this proposal is simple: to establish a model of collaboration in which feedback is exchanged for co-authorship.
The purpose of this proposal is simple: to establish a collaboration model whereby any contribution can be exchanged for co-authorship.
The objectives are:
-generate an incentive (via co-authorship offer) for collaborating in the department.
-facilitate knowledge transfer regardless of the level of expertise in a particular field.
-increase the quality of publications through a higher level of co-evaluation and contribution.
Implementation:
1. Researchers submit a short abstract of the project/paper they are developing or plan to develop, together with a contact email.
2. Researchers add a label indicating what kind of contribution they are happy to exchange by co-authorship: e.g. general comments on the final draft manuscript, methods review, code review, experimental design review, etc...
3. Any researcher interested in contributing according to the marked specifications can contact the project investigator.
