We all search for our perfect match. In some cases it’s someone whose completely opposite than us, and in other cases it’s someone whose exactly like us. For men there’s one consistent in what we look for, we all want to date the best looking supermodel. Even if we don’t have a chance. We all have an image of a near perfect, unattainable woman, and run blindly after her. While we’re attracted to her looks, we often ignore the important factor of attraction, and that’s personality. Just because she look’s like an angel doesn’t mean she’s an angel. I’ve been in rooms with very attractive women and many times have found myself not attracted to them. After some point a woman’s physical appearance is just that, but it says nothing about her personality. This doesn’t mean they aren’t great women, just not the one for me.


This is a hard truth to dating, just because she’s hot, doesn’t mean she’s right.

I want to refer to my theory on how men mentally group women based on their attractiveness for a moment. Often, men look at an A Lister and go crazy for her. We’re quick to send her a message, approach her at the bar, or get her number. While she may look great in a sleek and sexy dress, some realities come into play. Her great looks says nothing about enjoying the things I like. While it may be great to date a supermodel, will she go to the bar with me and scream her head out during the football game while my team is playing? Will she make the concessions to understand me and my lifestyle? Most importantly, will she enjoy me for just me?
The question here is, a really attractive women may be perfect on paper, but does that mean she’s actually perfect?
Appearance is one thing, personality is another. That’s not to say the two don’t co-exist, there’s plenty of attractive women who have great personalities and are great dates, but often they lie in the B and C lists. These aren’t the supermodels we often compare women to, but more like the cute girl next door we’ve had a crush on since high school. It’s a mistake to overlook a potentially great woman, just because she doesn’t look like some girl from a magazine.
Real women aren’t photoshopped, and they are often the best.
