# 2023 CYCU EE Department Information Technology Self-Study Competition

## Event Purpose
This competition encourages students to continue learning and cultivate their ability to respond to future challenges. Participants can choose their interested topics in information technology for in-depth study and organize the learned knowledge into articles to share with others. Through this process, participants can improve their learning, organization, and expression abilities. In addition, the well-organized content can continue circulating and sharing, driving other students to join the learning ranks.

## Competition Eligibility
1. The competition is open to undergraduate students of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Chung Yuan Christian University and international students attending its summer camps.
2. The competition includes both individual and team events, with teams consisting of 2 to 4 members.
3. The registration deadline: 2023/06/30
## Event Guidelines
1. Participants are required to choose a topic related to information technology, such as programming languages, software development, network security, databases, FPGA, embedded systems, algorithms and data structures, web development, IoT, data analysis and data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning, virtual and augmented reality, robotics, blockchain technology, computer vision and image processing, natural language processing, etc. (not limited to these).
2. For the individual event, participants must complete at least 2 learning records by June 30st and a total of 10 learning records by September 24th.
For the team event, participants must complete at least 3 learning records by June 31st and a total of 15 learning records by September 24th, with each team member required to write at least 2 learning records.
3. Learning records must use Markdown syntax and be published on the HackMD platform. (Refer to the [HackMD Usage Guide](#HackMD-Usage-Guide))
4. Consolidate all learning records into one page using HackMD's book mode. (Refer to the [HackMD Usage Guide](#HackMD-Usage-Guide))
5. There is no limit to the content of each learning record. Still, the quality and quantity of the sharing will be one of the evaluation criteria.
6. Do not violate the intellectual property rights of others. If quoting content from others, provide proper attribution and source. Any violation will result in disqualification, and the participant will be responsible for any infringement issues.

## Scoring and Awards
1. The judging panel will evaluate the following criteria:
- Topic Planning
- Originality
- Organizational Content
- Performance Techniques
2. Awards for Individual Competition:
1. 1st place: NT$5000 + certificate
2. 2nd place: NT$3000 + certificate
3. 3rd place: NT$1000 + certificate
4. 3 Honorable Mentions: NT$500 + certificate each
5. Iron Person Award: We will award a certificate to those who complete 10 qualified learning articles.
3. Awards for Team Competition:
1. 1st place: NT$6000 + certificate
2. 2nd place: NT$4000 + certificate
3. 3rd place: NT$2000 + certificate
4. 3 Honorable Mentions: NT$1000 + certificate each
5. Iron Person Award: We will award a certificate to those who complete 15 qualified learning articles.
4. The total number of comments received before the end of August will be counted, regardless of individual or team competition. We will give out 3 Popularity Awards, including a certificate and NT$1000.
