# Chapter 3, Section 1: Types of NFTs ###### tags: `Chapter 3` NFTs come in all sizes and formats. They can differ in [[art & style]], [[file format]], [[use cases]], and more. But these differences merely exist on the surface. Let's explore NFTs with differing ownership models. **CC0 vs I.P.** Most NFTs have Intellectual Property (I.P.) Rights. For some collections, artists reserve rights, while others transfer I.P. to buyers of the NFT. NFTs with I.P. give you exclusive rights to use and commercialize your NFT. In other words, copyright. Admist all the controversy and confusion in NFT I.P., a new solution has come to the table - [[CC0]], or Creative Commons Zero. This exact opposite of I.P. is adopted by few projects, including Lil Nouns DAO. ## Terms To Nutshell 1. Art & Style NFTs can have differing artistic styles & intent. You may have heard of PFP NFTs, such as CryptoPunks or Bored Apes Yacht Club. These are great for your profile picture. Other styles include 1/1 NFTs (hand-drawn & unique), generative NFTs (computer algorithm generated), and more. 2. File Format NFTs aren't all JPEGs. There are music NFTs, GIF NFTs, video NFTs, etc. 3. Use Cases NFTs have tons of use cases. You may heva heard of ticketing NFTs, gaming NFTs, domain name NFTs, etc. 4. CC0 CC0 (Creative Commons Zero) is a protocol which strips creations of their I.P. While this may sound bad for artists at first, it really isn't. Besides eliminating the need to constantly track down art thiefs, CC0 NFTs spread around best - because they're free for anyone to use, modify, commercialize. Nouns DAO is a pioneer in CC0 NFTs, and Lil Nouns have followed suit. At Nouns, we've created a CC0 culture which encourages proliferation, spreading the word about Nouns.
