Universal Guide of Nippon Airways This guide is subject to ammendment. ARTICLE I. EMPLOYEE STANDARDS All roles within Nippon Airways require determination, professionalism, uniqueness and kindness. During flights, you are mandated to uphold such standards. You are required to present and create a professional image on the airline, you can do this by wearing uniform, using full grammar and communicating efficiently for a smooth flight. A proper work ethic is expected in order to properly fulfil the duties as a staff member. SEC I. PROFESSIONALISM If you are off duty, you are expected to remain professional in public view. You are not required to use grammar within the designated staff channels of the Discord server. You must, at ALL times use grammar if you are in any game associated with Nippon Airways, these include but are not limited to our airports, headquarters and training grounds. SEC II. EXPERIENCE You are expected to remain familiar with all our protocols and procedures along with department policies and the staff team as a whole. Every flight can be different thus experiencing different scenarios. SEC III. ATTIRE You are required to wear full staff uniform for the role you have been assigned for that flight, during events you shall wear your department uniform. A staff lanyard is required for all staff and a high visibility vest for those on the tarmac. SEC IV. ADMIN COMMANDS During flights you are working, you shall receive and be able to have access to use administrative commands, although if you are not working you will be required to notify the flight host in order to temporarily remove your administrative privileges for that flight. Abuse of these commands are not tolerated. ARTICLE II. CABIN CREW Cabin crew members perform in the interest of passengers, duties assigned by the flight host or pilot of the aircraft. SEC I. ROLE OF CABIN CREW Cabin crew members play an important proactive role in managing safety, which can contribute to the prevention of incidents and accidents. Cabin crew members also have the task of assisting passengers and serving beverages and meals on the aircraft. Cabin crew members play a key role in identifying hazards and reporting any conditions that can pose a risk to the safe operation of the aircraft and to its passengers’ safety. SEC II. CABIN CREW TRAINING The goal of initial training is to ensure that trainee acquires the competencies, knowledge and skills required to perform the duties and responsibilities related to the safety of passengers and flight during normal, abnormal and emergency situations. Trainees should be briefed on the duties and responsibilities of a cabin crew member and should be toured around the aircraft to familiarze themselves with the layout of the cabin (interior design, stowage compartments such as overhead bins, and closets, etc.) ARTICLE III. GROUND CREW Ground crew is defined as a set of people and/or person performing the communications with the flight crew. SEC I. ROLE OF GROUND CREW Responsible ground crew for the departure will conduct a Pre-Departure walkaround and do safety checks around the aircraft prior to boarding and will be in charge of the entire pushback - once clearance to begin pushback has been given by the flight crew. If ramp conditions are below standard for a normal pushback (e.g. hazards, obstacles, slippery or icy) then the responsible person will inform the flight crew that engine start clearances will not be given until either the aircraft is moving over an area of the ramp where the conditions are considered to be safe for an engine start. SEC II. GROUND CREW TRAINING Initial Training shall include but not limited to: Familiarisation training on applicable local regulations; In-depth training on requirements, including policies, procedures and operating practices; Training in human factors principles; Safety training on associated operational hazards; Load control, basic principles, excluding weight & balance; Ground support equipment (operation & hazards); Passenger handling; Baggage handling; Aircraft loading; Airside safety. ARTICLE IV. PILOT & FIRST OFFICER Pilots are responsible for the operation of the aircraft, the safety of the passengers and crew members, and all flight decisions once in the air. SEC I. ROLE OF PILOT At any point in time during the flight, the pilot is responsible for managing and is always engaged in flying the aircraft. If it any time, the pilot must be engaged with another activity, the First Officer shall act as a pilot if suitable. Switching of roles should be done positively with verbal assignment and verbal acceptance. SEC II. ROLE OF FIRST OFFICER The First Officer is responsible for monitoring the current and projected flight path and energy of the aircraft at all times. The First Office supports the Pilot at all times, staying abreast of all air traffic control instructions and clearances and aircraft state. They shall monitor the aircraft and system state, call out any perceived or potential deviations, and intervene if necessary. ARTICLE V. CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE Customer Experience is tasked with providing support to passengers and responding to support tickets within the Discord server. SEC I. ROLE OF CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE Customer experience, or in other words Customer Service supports customers by providing helpful information, answering questions, and responding to complaints. They may consult with SLT members if necessary.
