# Revenue generation models ### Summary - First we'll build the protocol (Beta v4 is live now). - Then we'll build products, smart contracts, integrations, and automations on top of the protocol to specific satisfy customer needs (40+ organizations already excited). - The protocol and related products will be at the center of a ton of value flows in a new market: the web3 equivalent of HR, but for DAOs. - By working with our first 50-100 DAO customers over the coming 1-2 years, we will discover the revenue models that are the best fit for this technology and ecosystem. - The best case scenario is a massive decentralized ecosystem where value is driven by interoperability network effects - and our team is uniquely positioned to build this. ### Comps for scale At the ecosystem level, we're thinking about the scale of trad org HR as it starts to move on-chain. The products and protocol we'll build will tap into related value flows, which could mirror the following trad industries: - Access Control: $14B - HR Tech: $24B - Staffing and Recruiting: $150B ### Where to start We're already working with DAOs to implement the protocol as a white-glove service. DAOs will pay us for custom product functionality and protocol implementation. Since this is already starting to work, it serves as initial validation of the pain point and amount of value our solution creates. From here, our number one priority is to build an incredible first dapp on top of the protocol. This will drive protocol usage, allow us to scale faster than we can with the white-glove service, and begin to bootstrap the ecosystem's network effects. After that, we're thinking about other products/features to build that are revenue drivers. One example is an open role marketplace, a way to make matches between people and open roles, based on their on-chain resume data. For comparison, in trad orgs the value exchanged for this type of placement is up to 10-20% of an employee's salary. This will look different in web3, but we know this matching is an incredibly valuable activity, and a possible revenue driver. All in all, we're excited to have discovered a solution to a key pain point for DAOs. As DAOs grow, there will be a massive market, and we believe we can ship valuable features while learning alongide our early customers and growing a robust ecosystem around this new key piece of DAO infrastructure.
