# Hello World - Open source is hard: the path to moving away from it is a slow drift. - NGOs may be better than traditional investments. # Misc Robot project list: - https://gitlab.com/pipettin-bot/pipettin-bot/-/issues/63 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bioelectrochemical_reactor https://www.bioartbot.org/ https://docs.auto-pi-lot.com/en/latest/guide/overview.html # Future ## Nico: there's all this people... what can we do together? Tim: you can't get broad usage if you only build the platform. Tim: Jubilee is a good example, they have institutional backing and community. PLR has Hamilton and "pharma" behind them. Tim: Projects should show a demostration use case. Why is this useful? To who? Nico: **What about coordination?** (between PLR, Jubilee, Fran, etc.). Tim: Its possible, perhaps the grop will get too big, and the use case will be too small. ### Fran: Automated replication of libraries Fran: Autoamte reClone stuff! Tim: it is hard to do with the opentrons. Doing it by hand doesn't take too much time. Time: The Toyota production system (book) defines "autonomation". Robots should stop to let a human handle unexpected things (e.g. errors). ## Talk at OAC Tim: Start with a short talk about the project. Have a second talk targeting interesting people. Tim: Ask "what do you imagine the future looks like?". Tim: OT might be interested in making the robot connect to other stuff. You should perhaps be careful, they might make your life harder. - Take the feature and market it really hard, without keeping interoperability. - Vendrian a romper reuniones? ## Orchestration Orchestration of devices: https://docs.auto-pi-lot.com/en/latest/ Tim: in his orchestration system (which uses MQTT) there is a "supervisor" that sets up relationships between devices: "tell device A to expect a message from device B". Then the supervisor can walk away.
