# Governance Mobile App ### tl;dr The Governance Mobile App aims to streamline and simplify the voting process for DAO proposals. The first iteration of the app will focus on ensuring users don't miss proposals, enhancing proposal reading, and improving the voting process. Key features include customizable notifications, prioritizing ending proposals, time estimates for reading proposals and seamless voting through WalletConnect. The project, led by NG, who has experience in the Nouns ecosystem and mobile app development, requests a funding of 34 ETH with a 3-month delivery timeline. The project code will be open-sourced and shared on GitHub. Future improvements may include Android support, a built-in wallet, contextual information, Apple Watch support, native widgets, and iPad support. ![](https://i.imgur.com/IAXy5Xz.jpg) ## Intro With the growing amount of proposals, it's becoming harder to stay in the loop and vote on all DAO proposals. Creating application that makes it easier to see, read and vote on the proposals might be the unlock needed to activate more people in the DAO governance. ## First Iteration The first iteration of the app will concentrate on the following most important aspects: 1. Don't miss a proposal 2. Better proposal reading 3. Better voting process *All image examples are preliminary and might change in the end app* ### Don't miss a prop - Notifications. Select the best way to get notified. Chain any combinations: right when the prop goes on a chain, when it gets active, and time before voting ends. ![](https://i.imgur.com/gaqaf1Z.png) - Ending props always come first. Didn't vote on the prop and time is running out? You will see the prop first as you open the app. ![](https://i.imgur.com/XYegOt0.png) ### Better prop reading - The app will show how long it will take to read a prop, so you can plan accordingly. ![](https://i.imgur.com/J26rQVo.png) - The application saves your read progress. Only had 5 minutes and read just 42% of the proposal? Come back later to exactly where you left off. ![](https://i.imgur.com/tKcap6v.png) - tl;dr for the props, so you can quickly know what the prop is about from the prop cards page. ![](https://i.imgur.com/Dz0NDLp.png) - View everyone's vote reasons. Drill into feedback and thoughts everyone gives alongside their votes - the easiest way to do this on the go and for every proposal. ### Better voting process - Create a special vote wallet in the mobile hot wallet of your choice. Delegate votes to it and easily sign transactions. Your nouns are kept safe, and voting is more accessible. The first version of the app will implement WalletConnect functionality, so you can connect your mobile wallet of choice. ![](https://i.imgur.com/ZLjZrC1.png) - Read the pending prop and pre-save your vote. The app will notify you when voting opens and gas is low, so you can send the vote on-chain. ![](https://i.imgur.com/f4knAXx.png) - Easily write and pre-save a vote reason. You can always modify it before sending your vote on-chain. ![](https://i.imgur.com/4CEi1tE.png) ## What is next If the first iteration becomes a success within DAO, future improvements can include the following: - **Android** The application will be built with the Flutter framework, ensuring super-fast porting to Android as 80-90% will be shared between two platforms. Faster development, lesser cost, all members covered. - **Built-In wallet** No need to switch to another mobile wallet to sign vote transactions. Generate a wallet in the app, delegate votes to it and sign everything inside the app. Less context switching, faster voting, and less time burden for governance. - **Apple Watch support** View props deadlines and progress from your wrist. - **Native widgets** All the props and progress are on the Home Screen. - **iPad support** Support a bigger iPad interface for a richer proposal reading experience. - **And more…** ## Who? [NG](https://twitter.com/iamng_eth). I worked on many projects in the Nouns ecosystem. The latest include [Nouns Widgets](https://nounswidgets.wtf/) and [Animate Nouns](https://animatenouns.wtf/). I created experimental Fomo iOS and Android mobile apps and worked on the Fomo web app. More projects can be found [here](https://iamng.wtf/). I hold a CS bachelor's degree, where I concentrated on mobile app development. ## Funding The requested funding is 34 ETH with a delivery timeline of 3 months. 14 ETH will be released with the proposal pass, and the remaining ETH will be sent with Sablier payments or through trusted community multi-sig at the full app delivery. ## Open-Source The project code will be open-sourced, with all code shared on GitHub.
