# Localisation and Translation of Documentation

## Notes

- Batool and Murray would like to have documentation for their pipeline in Arabic.
- How would this work with nf-core?
- Documentation on nf-core should always be in English but all in agreement it would be nice to find ways to better support other languages.
- Documentation in other languages might not conform with current formatting (left to right vs right to left)
- Concerns around maintenance and accuracy were raised.
- Pinned translations of a pipeline version might be an option.

- nf-core tooling can be used outside nf-core
- Might need to switch off the testing to allow passing tests if not written in English when developing.
- If it is a priority for developers - how do we support documentation that isn't in English?
- Can docs outside of nf-core website be used?
- Could allow links to send viewers to other sites as long as it is fixed? Do we have allowances for that?
- Fixed DOI?
- PDF asset?
- Other?
- Will this be less discoverable?

- Talk to the wider nf-core team at the next core team meeting.
- Chris to report back to Batool and Murray after meeting.
- Murray will play with local verson of website.
