# [PREVIEW] NEAR and Far from _any_ Coding
Hello! My name is Ben Sayeg, and I work on the Education team at NEAR. I'm excited to talk about a new intro course I'm building called "NEAR and Far from _any_ Coding".
It's an exciting time to join the web3 movement, and if you are new to the space, and feel completely overwhelmed, don't worry - you're not alone.
Folks with _decades_ of programming experience feel just as lost as you for months when they learn about blockchain.
In this course we're simply discussing basic concepts you're already familiar with like:
"community"
"ownership"
"time"
"identity"
and how these ideas play into _other_ things you're familiar with as well like:
"your computer"
"networking"
"the web"
Finally, we'll explore how _all_ of these ideas exist and operate in web3 and NEAR specifically.
By the end of this course, you will not only able to understand and describe basic concepts of blockchain, web3, and NEAR, but you'll also be able to imagine new possibilities, new applications, new games, new features, and much more on the open web.
There is no coding, but you'll learn just enough about the code and _bones_ of a smart contract to be able to read it, and rationalize what's going on.
So, come join my course, "NEAR and Far from _any_ Coding" and let's dive into the open web!
