# Diamond Union Representation Bill ## TITLE I: GENERAL PROVISIONS ### 1. Title This Act may be cited as the Diamond Union Representation for Shops, Customers and Staff September 2020. ### 2. Commencement This Act comes into force on the day of a vote. ### 3. Purpose This Act is to set out all responsiblities and powers of Diamond Union branches. ### 4. Governing System 1) The Diamond Union has 3 representative branches. a) The House of Representatives b) The Executive Branch c) The Senate 2) If one fails, the others picks up the pace. 3) The power balance should be 3:6:1 (House to Executive to Senate). ## TITLE II: HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES ### 5. Makeup 1) The House is made up of 30 representatives. 2) Each shop has a proportional number of seats. ### 6. Updating 1) House seats are updated every time: a) A shop leaves. b) A shop joins. c) The number of employees in a shop changes. ### 7. Calculation 1) Let M be the number of employees a shop has. 2) Let C be the total amount of employees in all shops. 3) Let S be the number of seats available. 4) A shop's seats is calculated by M/C*S. ### 8. Responsbilities 1) Passing non-executive bills. 2) Voting for Governor. 3) Making sure shops have their say in the way they are helped. ### 9. Powers 1) Submitting bills. 2) Removing other shops from the program. ## TITLE III: EXECUTIVE BRANCH ### 10. Makeup 1) The Executive Branch is made up of 4/5 people. 2) The Hierarchy: a) Co-Leader 1 b) Co-Leader 2 c) Executive Director d) Secretary e) Governor (if in office) 3) The Branch is not proportional to anything. ### 11. Responsibilities 1) Passing executive bills. 2) Handling emergencies. 3) Regulating the House. 4) Having general debates. 5) Managing the program. 6) Amending acts. 7) Reviewing acts. 8) Making sure shops are benefiting from the Diamond Union. ### 12. Powers 1) Shutting down the House. 2) Making executive decisions. 3) Making new positions. ## TITLE IV: SENATE ### 13. Makeup 1) The Senate is made up of 10 representatives. 2) Each federation has a proportional number of seats. ### 14. Calculation 1) Let M be the number of member shops a federation has. 2) Let C be the total number of member shops in all shops. 3) Let S be the number of seats available. 4) A federation's seats is calculated by M/C*S. ### 15. Responsiblities 1) Helping out other federations. 2) Making sure bills passed do not harm federations. 3) Being an ally to the Executive Branch.
