# Acala's Ecosystem Development Challenge
You’re one step closer to becoming Acala’s [Ecosystem Development Director](https://jobs.lever.co/acala/facef38c-0289-45eb-a61f-cd6ab12332f3). If you have what it takes to run a Partner Development Program for a DeFi startup, this is your chance to prove it. There are 3 core tenets of this role;
1. Build the pipeline
1. Evaluate the projects
1. Run the engagement
We would like to know how you envision each one and how you would approach, select and engage the next generation of [Acala Ecosystem projects](https://wiki.acala.network/general/acala-portal/partnerships#ecosystem-projects). Ready?
## Part 1. Build the Pipeline
You’ll need to regularly find suitable candidate projects for our Development Program. These could be DeFi projects at early funding stages, many of whom will not have active marketing. Where will you look for them? How will you approach them?
We would like you to define your strategy for sourcing new projects. We appreciate that this is a vague requirement, and that you’ll need to use your imagination for this exercise - but the job will require the same creativity. Have some fun with it!
> [**Deliverable**: Outline your sourcing strategy to build a pipeline of DeFi projects]
## Part 2. Select the Projects
You’ll need a reliable selection process to evaluate candidate projects. What will it look like? How will you evaluate the technical, ethical and commercial goals? What will the KPIs be? What is a red flag?
You are free to use specific projects for illustration for this exercise, or to utilize what you know about the market of emerging crypto projects in general. But we want to know what you think defines the best projects, how many evaluation stages you foresee, and what you will evaluate at each stage.
> [**Deliverable**: Create a scalable process to evaluate dozens of potential DeFi projects]

## Part 3. Run the Engagement
If you’re successful at building a pipeline of projects, and selecting the right ones to engage, we'll ask you to drive their engagement with our team(s). In addition to the project Founders Acala has over a dozen Blockchain Engineers in different areas for mentorship and technical support, as well as a Growth Marketing team, Product Managers, a dedicated Recruiter and several other key resources. Assume all of these resources are available.
But how long should our Development Program run for? How much time should we dedicate to support each project? Should we set a ‘time budget‘ per project for the different disciplines? What are the potential outcomes that you would expect?
> [**Deliverable**: Design an engagement plan, including a development & outcome timeline]

## Submission
When you have completed this challenge send your response to [simon@acala.network](mailto:simon@acala.network?subject="EcosystemLead_Challenge") in whatever format you prefer, and we'll be in touch soon afterwards to discuss next steps.
## Thank you
We are still a very small team, and our selection process is intimately important to us. We appreciate that this challenge may take you several hours, but we earnestly review each submission and take very seriously every candidate that completes it.
