###### tags: `Rigor` `Onboarding` # RigorDAO Onboarding Outline The first couple of steps are for complete newbs to crypto. If you already know what Metamask is and have a wallet setup, please skip to Step 3. ## Step 1 - DAOwnload Metamask Go to https://metamask.io/ and download and install the appropriate version for your preferred device. ![](https://i.imgur.com/DSYqzqm.png =500x) ## Step 2 - Setup Whalet Once installed, follow the instructions to setup your wallet. Setup will include writing down your seed phrase and setting up a password. **Make sure to keep both your password and seed phrase in a safe and secure place, and do not share them with anyone you would not trust with your personal finances.** ## Step 3 - Add Gnosis Chain Add the Gnosis Chain to your Metamask wallet. Make sure to also add xDai to your wallet for gas fees too. * If you already have USDC and xDai in your Metamask wallet on Gnosis Chain, skip to Step 5 * If you already have USDC and DAI in your Metamask wallet on Ethereum Mainnet and need to bridge to Gnosis Chain, skip to Step 4.2 * If you already use an exchange and can acquire USDC and xDAI, continue on to Step 4.1. *If you need assistance choosing an exchange, please consult with the RigorDAO community.* ### 4.1 Ethereum Mainnet 1. Copy your address by clicking on it in your Metamask wallet. 2. Navigate to an exchange where you have USDC & DAI. 3. Withdraw to your Metamask wallet address that you copied. 4. Continue to the next step ### 4.2 Bridge to Gnosis Chain #### Gnosis Chain 1. Stay connected to Ethereum Mainnet 2. Bridge USDC & DAI to Gnosis Chain a. Bridge DAI [here](https://bridge.xdaichain.com/) b. Bridge USDC [here](https://omni.xdaichain.com/) 3. Switch to Gnosis Chain in your Metamask wallet 4. Add USDC token to your wallet on Gnosis Chain * 0xDDAfbb505ad214D7b80b1f830fcCc89B60fb7A83 5. Both the DAI and the USDC should display in your wallet ## Step 5 - Enter the DAOgon (Connect Wallet to DAO) The RigorDAO is powered by the DAOhaus Platform. DAOhaus is a user-friendly governance platform that enables anyone to interact with the blockchain and create more complex transactions without needing to know how to code. To interact with the RigorDAO, you must first connect your wallet to the DAOhaus platform. ### Desktop Go to {DAO Proposals Page Link Here} and connect your wallet (top right button on desktop) ### Mobile Navigate to the browser within the Metamask mobile wallet app and go to {DAO Proposals Page Link Here} --- --- ### DAOhaus Terminology Before continuing on to the next step, it may help to know the following terminology commonly found on the DAOhaus platform. **Proposal** A human-readable form used to submit on-chain requests to the DAO. **Shares** Grants voting rights and proportionate ownership of DAO treasury. **Loot** Grants proportionate ownership of DAO treasury, without the voting rights. **Shares and Loot are both DAO specific and cannot be transfered or traded.* **Tribute** An asset contributed to the DAO, via a proposal, in exchange for Shares or Loot. **Treasury** A DAO's Treasury is a secure on-chain vault controlled by consensus vote, via the members of the DAO. Each member has proportional ownership over the Treasury based on the amount of Shares and/or Loot they have. --- --- ## Step 6 - DAO She Blows - Whale Spotted (Create Proposal) 1. Click the 'New Proposal +' button 2. Click the 'Membership Proposal' option 3. Fill out the form as follows * Title: {Suggested Title Here} * Shares: {Ratio of Tribute to shares, or specific share amount here} * Loot: Click 'More+' button and select 'Loot Requested' * Loot Requested: {Ratio of Tribute to Loot, or specific Loot amount here} * Tribute: {Suggested amount or options to tribute here} * Description: Optional 4. Once the proposal is filled out, there will be two separate transactions required to complete the submission. The first (Step 7) will approve the tribute and the second (Step 8) will submit the proposal onto the blockchain. ## Step 7 - Unlock Token Click the 'Unlock Token' button, which will open an approval transaction in your Metamask wallet. The approval transaction allows DAOhaus to transfer the tokens from your wallet to the DAO. Approve the transaction and let it process. Once the transaction is confirmed, proceed to the next step. ## Step 8 - Submit The Proposal After the token is unlocked, click the 'Submit' button to submit your proposal to the DAO for approval. Once the proposal is submitted, you must wait for it to be sponsored by an existing member and approved via a voting process. Consult with {project name here} if you have any questions or concerns. Once the proposal is approved and fully processed, you will officially be a member of {Project DAO name here}.
