Born in ![glossary][Xiaolan](Xiaolan)(translation) Village, Zhongshan County, Guangdong in 1624 during ![glossary][Ming Dynasty](Mingdyn)(wiki), he was a descendant of the 9th Ten Brothers. During Kangxi (1662-1722) of Qing Dynasty, he travelled to Zhaoqing in the hope of seeking government posts, but then settled down there. He died in 1689 at the nominal age of 66. Throughout his life, Zhi profoundly believed in Islam. His diligence and frugality set a good example for the offspring. His birthday was on the 13th day of the 2nd lunar month and he died on the 11th day of the 6th lunar month. He was buried to the south of the hillock in front of Qixing Yan (literally "Seven Star Crags") outside the West Gate of Zhaoqing, where a stele was stood as an emblem. ### Fengzhao 鳳朝 - **Birth date**: 8th day of 6th lunar month - **Brothers**: Fenggao, Fengluan Fengzhao was the second son of Zhi. His birthday was on the 8th day of the 6th lunar month and he died on the 18th day of the 12th lunar month. He was buried on Back Hill aka the Niumian Hill outside the West Gate of Zhaoqing. ### Shaoren 紹仁 - **Birth date**: 25th day of 7th lunar month Shaoren was the son of Yueheng. His birthday was on the 25th day of the 7th lunar month and he died on the 28th day of the 7th lunar month. He was buried on Back Hill aka the Niumian Hill outside the West Gate of Zhaoqing. ### Wenxian 文顯 - **Birth date**: 7th day of 3rd lunar month Wenxian was the son of Shaoren. His birthday was on the 7th day of the 3rd lunar month and he died on the 28th day of the 3rd lunar month. He was buried on Back Hill aka the Niumian Hill outside the West Gate of Zhaoqing. ### Qichang 其昌 - **Birth date**: 25th day of 10th lunar month - **Brothers**: Qiyu, Qitai - **Spouses**: Ms. Li, Ms. Ma Qichang was the eldest son of Wenxian. His birthday was on the 25th day of the 10th lunar month and he died on the 14th day of the 3rd lunar month. He was buried on Back Hill aka the Niumian Hill outside the West Gate of Zhaoqing. The first wife, Ms. Li's birthday was on the 20th day of the 10th lunar month and she died on the 20th day of the 6th lunar month. The second wife, Ms. Ma's birthday was on the 20th day of the 11th lunar month and she died on the 4th day of the 4th lunar month. (However, some argues that the second wife was Ms. Wang, born on the 21st day of the 4th lunar month and died on the 9th day of the 3rd lunar month. Recorded here for further investigation) ### Dasheng 大勝 - **Birth date**: 12th day of 6th lunar month - **Brothers**: Dajiang, Dawei, Dahuai, Dayuan, Daqiang, Dalun, Dapeng - **Spouses**: Ms. Liu, Ms. Li Dasheng was the 7th son of Qichang, nominally adopted by Qitai who had no children himself. He was good at doing business and established the “Juxing Restaurant”. Every Muslim in Guangzhou had heard of him. He was benevolent, generous and very supportive to those in need, which was widely praised among the clan members. He was also the most long-lived male of the clan - Qijun died at the age of 71. His birthday was on the 20th day of the 10th lunar month and he died on the 18th day of the 7th lunar month. He was buried on the Guihua Hill (literally "Osmanthus Hill") outside the Large North Gate of Guangzhou.
